You're not even going to get a statistically significant amount of the forum to vote.

Do you know how many people are registered on these forums? Thousands and thousands.

And even the ones that debate the subject in THIS forum alone, your numbers very likely won't be significant.


Add that to what some are claiming is a biased poll and your data has very very little use.

So far almost 400 people have voted, that's a good statistic.

Answers were a bit surprising to me, I had no idea so many were for nudity. 1/4th just about, right ? That is a lot higher than I expected.

I am also surprised by the result, I mean on the bsn huh, ( Given how many folks on this board are saying, no I don't want porn, as if that was smart. )

Elsewhere however, I am certain it would be massive for nudity if there were thousand and thousand people concerned.

Whatever. To be fair, polls on the bsn regardless of the result, mean nothing lol.

This forum argues a lot whether or not nudity should be in the game. This thread is still on the front page, so there's a good chance that most people that frequent this forum will vote on the poll thereby showing what the forum users HERE prefer. So far non nudity is winning by a slight margin.

Honestly my stance is that Bioware should do what they feel is appropriate with the title.

I think in a game like TW2, nudity is appropriate, because that game has a very specific approach and style. That game spares no detail throughout the entire narrative. It makes sense to show nudity and graphic sex scenes because the game doesn't hold anything back in other areas. It wouldn't make sense to censor that.

Dragon age has a very different narrative style. It's a dark fantasy universe, with story lines exploring mature themes like sex, torture, rape, and racism. However, most of these themes are rarely shown on screen, or if they are, only partially. You don't see a character get raped, but you can infer that at some point off-screen the character had been raped, and that is part of that narrative. In TW2, you can watch someone get their eyes gauged out on screen, in Dragon Age, you meet a character in a dungeon and you can infer that they had been tortured. Therefore, I believe it's been within Dragon Age's narrative style to censor sex scenes and nudity in the last 2 games.

However, I don't know what they will be doing with Dragon Age 3. I won't say that they should include nudity. If Dragon Age 3's narrative is presented similarly to the last 2 games, then I think they shouldn't. If they decide the game overall will be more graphic and will express more detail and focus more on mature themes throughout the game, then I think it would be odd not to include nudity and more mature sex scenes than DA2.

I do not think nudity should be included just for the sake of having nudity. That's what TW1 did and I was unimpressed with the results. My point is, this is an issue that only the devs and writers posess enough context to judge properly, and therefore, I shall trust their judgement either way.

It's not meant to prove anything to Bioware, I'm sure if even 10,000 people voted for full on hardcore nudity sex scene they would never do it. It's just a poll to end the constant argument on this forum that most people prefer nudity and that people outside BSN are too immature or something to want it. The poll shows that even people on BSN aren't in favour of it. Besides, it's only 1 day old.

It would seem to me that any game developer who gathers data on their players/users probably has a good idea of what those users like/don't like. A poll on a forum - which typically should be taken liberally with salt - probably doesn't mean much. Like at all.

Edit: If the goal is to "end the constant argument" on this forum, good luck. Your wisdom is falling on deaf ears (or blind eyes, as the case may be).

We did a BSN poll about romances om ME3 and got 4,000 responses in about 3 days. Poll was open for more than a week and finished with over 6,000 responses. That was one of the largest I saw lately.

400 is not much.

Still, I think is valid to show nudity has a lot more support than I expected

But sample size is pretty irrelevant when participation is self selecting.

I think it's fine if they are naked. Just have the private parts not shown good camera angles and not show the scene(s) longer than 20 seconds.

I can't say I really care that much. Just don't make weird underwear scenes like DAO or ME3's Traynor shower scene. Aside from that...full nudity, hiding some bits through clever camera angles or fade to black scenes are all okay in my book. Though I'd prefer they don't turn the romance scenes into porn. I think ME1 and 3 both handled it really well. Well for Liara's romance scenes anyway, can't comment on the rest.

Camera angles work just fine for me personally. ME1 was the best way of going about the sex scene, without showing anything. I still don't understand the big damn deal, but apparently it's pretty huge to see something naked. But having that, or fade to black, would pretty much solve it.

Full on nudity during sex scenes is definitely soft-core porn.

The nudity shown during the romance scenes in Mass Effect 1 was not.
