I was wondering where the best place to buy a digital copy of Dragon Age 2 and it's DLC and if it's at all possible without the use of EA's "Origin"?

Secondly, I bought the Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition on Steam. With DA 2 not on steam, is that going to give me trouble when trying to import a save to DA2?

I'd have posted this in the DA:O or DAII forum, but it says I don't meet the prerequisites.

From what I can tell Origin is the only service that has it. Sorry. There may be some be some websites that offer it but I think you need to download Origin for it anyway.

Your saves should work despite being on Steam.

Dragon Age 2 was released before Origin was intorduced so it is not used as it's DRM.

I have purchased games like Burnout Paradise and Dragon Age Ultimate Edition from Origin and Origin was not required to be active to run the games.

The service is no different than Steam anyway so I don't see the problem...... actually it's not the same, if you purchased those games on Steam you would still need the Steam DRM active to run them.

Don't forget you also need to connect to EA's server to access your DLCs.

I've been able to access my ME3 DLC with no Internet connection at all.

Really? What about Dragon Age Origins?

I think I still get the DLCs being inaccessable if I load a save game without internet connection. Though Bioware said you only needed to authenticate them once online.

I haven't had any real trouble though honestly this is really splitting hairs looking for something to rag on.

I would prefer a service more akin to GOG for stuff like this as it takes a lot of the hassle out for the consumer.
