This is my second playthrough of ME2, however the first time was at release and I did not have any DLC. I am replaying ME1 & 2 inorder to do my first playthrough of ME3. I now have all ME2 dlc and have been progressing through them (overlord, kasumni, etc). I just finished the colony Horizon and recieved the start of Arrival. I have read that it bridges ME2 & 3. Does this mean I need to wait till the end on 2 or can I go right into it and it all still makes since to the story when I play ME3? If I should wait please tell me when I should begin it.

I appreciate any responses you can provide me with. Thanks again in advance.

Story-wise, it is better to wait until after the Suicide Mission to complete Arrival. Two conversations at the end play out differently depending on whether you have completed the Suicide Mission yet.

SPOILERS AHEAD:
- Just before completing Arrival, you have a conversation with Harbinger. If you have not completed the Suicide Mission, the holographic image of Harbinger is the Collector General. If you have completed the Suicide Mission, the holographic image of Harbinger is his true Reaper form.
- In the final conversation with Admiral Hackett, you can ask him about the Alliance's response to the attacks or he mentions it outright (or both, I forget). If you have not completed the Suicide Mission, he mentions that the Alliance is doing what it can, but hopes you can put a stop to it (hopes "you have a trump card up your sleeve" I think he says). If you have completed the Suicide Mission, he references your decision to keep/destroy the Collector Base.

MORE SPOILERS: The Reapers are coming, traveling from Dark Space at faster than light speeds. If they reach the Alpha Relay, they will pour through to the rest of the Galaxy through the relay system. You destroy the relay, only delaying their arrival. This ending led to many players on BSN complaining that it made the rest of ME2 pointless. I disagree but make your own judgement.

Also of note: There are several research upgrades on Arrival that you may want before the Suicide Mission instead of after. Offhand, I think they are: Heavy Weapon Ammo, Damage Protection, and one other one that escapes my memory at the moment. You can look it up online.

As the above poster said story wise it makes most sense after the SM. Gameplay wise though that would waste all the upgrades from there though. Your choice!
