Hi, ive never bothered to make an archer before and would like to try it.
Ive seen people swear by and and others who would deter against it and i just want to form my own opinions.

Now for starters some basic info about myself;i have access to wardens keep and am fairly lazy at farming gold(side quests that just involve too much effort, opening chests that i know hold fairly bad equipment, and the such)

First I was wondering how does the equipment ability "Rapid Aim" work, it it just a simple +haste to auto attacking or is there some math behind it, i have no idea.

Second If rapid aim is important how would i get it, i am not able to use Majorlines recurve since its leilana only, unless i were to micro-manage her myself(i wouldnt mind, id just probly end up neglecting some other characters tho)

Third, Im told Farsong is the go to end game weapon, now assuming rapid aim is important is there any equipment that i can get it from? (side note: if you would be so kind as to say how much farsongs worth? Ive yet to kill owen on any of my play throughs so ive never seen the bow myself, that ad i like diligence for my tank before he has enough str for jugg)

Thank you for reading i look forward to reading any responses Image IPB

You can buy a light and a medium helmet with "Rapid Aim". Rapid Aim bonus makes you shoot faster as normal, but slower than with rapid shot, but without the cons of rapid shot.

Far Song, Falon Din or Mage's Eye bows are the best bows (in this order). Or if you like shortbows there is The Dark Moon.

There's also a Longbowman's Belt (+2% ranged critical chance), but i always buy the anduril's belt (140 gold or so)

If you're going for an archer build, then I'd suggest finding the redone combat mod on Dragonnexus, which allows you to tweak the archery mechanics to something a little closer to how it really should be.

The game, unpatched, unmodded, does NOT allow archery to work as it states it does. Dex and Str bonuses are out of kilter, and some just don't apply. Even with the latest patch, there's still problems with it.

Fair warning, though. Adding in the mod for archery affects your enemies, as well. You WILL suffer the consequences of this, very painfully.
