I had an idea a while ago about specializations that cross classes.
What I mean is this:
Say, you're a warrior,
There would be two cross-specializations, one for rogue, and one for mage.
If you picked the rogue cross spec, you would gain the first 2 talents (to balance it out a tad) of every line fron the rogue class.
If you picked the mage cross spec, the same but with spells.

I'm thinking the names of the cross specs could be:
Spellsword - Warrior/Mage
Nightblade - Mage/Rogue
? (Possibly Wanderer) - Rogue/Warrior
Thanks to TES: Oblivion for the first two names.

I'm also thinking of more specialized specs, say
Paladin for Warrior/Spirit Healer or Mage/Champion
which would probably give you access to the 1st talent of every normal line in the opposite class, and the first 3 talents in the opposite specialization.
eg: Warrior with the first spell of each line (Arcane Bolt, Flame Blast, Rock Armour, Winter's Grasp, etc etc)
along with the Spirit Healer's Group Heal, Revival, and Life Ward.
This might be a little more overpowered, but being a Paladin, they could have the entropy spells locked out, or something similar.

I can't really do this myself, as I have no idea how to mod, and even if I did, I have the Steam version of the game, and XP service pack 2 (Which I hear the toolset has trouble with).

If someone could take my idea, and turn into something great, that'd be wonderful.

I could look into creating this once we have an increased number of specializations available, and can more easily add new ones; right now, I would have to replace existing ones, or add the new ones as talent/spell trees, which doesn't look quite right to me.

when i read cross-specialization i always think getting an extra spell/skill line for both specializations ie bloodmage spirithealers get a tree that has like a massive death magic that siphons small health from living enemies to comrades or ranger assassins get to summon posionous snakes to paralyze their enemies

not exactly in place of your idea but IMO would be very nice

I think the biggest problem would be handling the stamina + mana issue.

i think you would just have to make new abilities that are effectually the same as their equivalents

warrior/rogue talent crosses make the most sense to me, what if i'm soloing a warrior and need the extra cash from locked chests?

although having alistair charge up energy in his sword to send out in a gigantic arc of destruction would be my favorite mod EVER (and yes i am talking about Getsugan Tenshou)
