I like her character, but I don't necessarily like her if you get what I'm saying.

That said, I think her story was kind of implausible.

Dangerous convicted felon who's murdered, kidnapped, committed theft, piracy vandalism, etc, going to responsible (if unorthodox) mentor figure of biotic kids for at Grissom Academy in a matter of months seems way unrealistic to me.

Yeah, there are a few things that could have been improved with a longer timespan between the games. Her basic motivation for changing though is plausible to me. I'm a big believer in the idea that getting back in touch with your childhood innocence changes a lot of things. Many of us go wrong because we try to be adults or are forced to be adults too quickly, but go about it in all the worse ways.

I don't find it hard to believe. Jack is merely a glorified gym-teacher at the academy.

Obviously she wouldn't have been hired on her job application alone. That's why they interview candidates before hiring. In that, Jack is not someone who I've ever talked to and believed to be evil, just young. As of the suicide mission, she's likely changed/grown up a bit, and a competant interviewer (Kahlee?) would surely recognize that.

Besides, what are they training these kids for, anyway? How to kill people with their biotics.

You set a thief to catch a thief. Or, you hire a thief to teach a prospective thief.

*edit*

Also, that Jack is a girl also makes a big difference. Psychologically speaking, girls naturally trend towards joining and protecting groups of people close to them under stress. Men are more apt to solve their problems through conflict.

I used to hate Jack, first impressions made out that she was a wannabe badass.

The more i replayed ME2 the more i liked her.

She is now my favourite character.

I like Jack, but the whole 'murderer' thing kind of put me off outright having sex with her.

This is how Paragon characters should be treated half of the time. Doesn't happen enough.

Jack was my LI in ME 2 canon at one point but I didn't like how ME 3 played out. It was a bit empty, (before Citadel released). So I replayed the trilogy with staying loyal to Liara.

I didn't like her being this violent and aggressive - there is a good reason for it, but I still don't think that enjoying violence is a attractive personality trait.

I also didn't like the idea that her trauma from Cerberus' abuse can only be cured by Shepard's magical pen!s

As someone who's a paragon most of the time (about a 65/35 split), I agree.

Her trauma isn't cured. That doesn't go away. She just learns to trust someone, and live for more than her own survival.

Definetly one of the more predictable and obnoxious characters. Always a joy to kill her on the suicide mission. Grissom is certainly better off without Jack.

I'd think a lizard brained viking would appreciate the obnoxiousness. But nope, he writes Liara fanfics instead.

And all the King's men and Normandy's psychologists (isn't that the point of having Chambers on board in the first place? To deal with the crazies?) can help her do that without Shepard's magical pen!s.

Chambers is a naive idiot out of her element. She'll find that out one way or another. Jack is more of a person who could only accept advice from someone with real life experience coping with their problems. That's kind of how the romance arc is written (and the loyalty to a smaller extent). Shepard is never an outsider, like Chambers. I think it's a bit railroaded for a character who has their own baggage. Not for everyone.

From my poll here, most people who voted so far think that Jack and Shep would look better with a daughter than a son, why is that?

Oh. I apologize then. It is hard to read intent or tone on the internet.  Thought you were trying to smacktalk me somehow.

No, just trying to have fun, and pointing a little irony out in your name. Not the greatest joke, I know. Just that vikings and our most basic impulses (our reptillian brains) are quite obnoxious. But obnoxious can be fun sometimes.
