From my poll here, most people who voted so far think that Jack and Shep would look better with a daughter than a son, why is that?

With a tough babe like Jack, I can't help but picture sons.

In ME2, I thought the romance felt quite uncomfortable. Not because I didn't like her but rather because it felt somehow like disrespecting her psychological issues, even if you go full paragon. She is quite unstable during the second game and to me it always seemed that she needs a really good friend more than a romantic relationship (even if she doesn't see it that way). Unfortunately, there was no real way to get this across at the time.
However, ME3 made set things right in that regard. I love her character development in between ME2 and 3. It may be cliche and corny bit still, especially when you don't romance her, it's a beautiful character arc.
Despite the fact that Jack maintains this hard indifferent facade towards Shepard in ME2, despite the fact that she is cynical about everything paragon you say to her, it gets clear that Shepard made an impression on her and that he actually managed to help her although she would never admit that she needed, let alone wanted it.
For that story, I really liked every single Jack scene in ME3. Well, everyone but the deal with the varren dog in the Citadel DLC. After the beautiful interaction in the combat simulator, that dog scene really played it a bit over the top then, IMO.

I love Jack and I think she had one of the better romance arcs in ME2 and the whole series.

However, her abrasiveness was an initial turn-off for me in ME2, so she's not my main Shep's LI.

She was another Shep's LI, but her ME3 romance was decidedly renegade, so I may have to readjust future playthrough plans...

Better to start off bitter going sweet than sweet going bitter, no?

I think Mordin and Jack have something in common. He's gone on record saying he loathed Jack, but it also seems like he was pretty heavy handed in 2 with how we could judge Mordin.

But in both cases, I think it backfired for many. We actually liked them.

She's also a psychotic murderer who kills people for fun, but everyone seems to forget that part. But it's ok because she looks like Sophia Loren.

Shepard can be the same kinda guy, and plus, Thane, Samara, Miranda, Wrex, Zaeed, and possibly Garrus are murderers too.

None of them crashed a space station into the moon for the lolz. But I do love Jack, she was my ONE romance in all my playthroughs while dudeShep pined for one future Mr. Shepard

No one was reported killed by that incident, It was simply vandalism of an "Aesthetically Pleasing" sight.

She had me at, "You sound like a ****."

When looking at the characters that would be in ME2, she was easily going to be a throwaway character. both as a squadmate and LI. I was going to have my Shepard either stay faithful to Liara or hook up with Miranda.

Didn't even bother to have that quick cargo bay sex.

And I'm grateful that I didn't, otherwise I wouldn't have unlocked the best LI in the series. After breaking through her barrier and realizing her tough/vulgar appearance/personality was a facade, you can't help, but want to help her/be with her.

She makes the most sense for Shepard, the others don't even seem right afterwards.

Liara is a bit stalkerish/the unrequited love.
Tali has the heavy hs crush on you...and seems like you would be taking advantage of her innocence.
Ashley...meh. Any romance that may have been should have ended during their fight in me2. She is just a fellow soldier/squadmate/spectre.
Miranda actually kind of works, as she has goes through a similar process as Jack with lowering her guard, but it felt all too contrived. Still, it was hard seeing her cry in me3.

I think they all work, but Jack clicks really well for many combinations of my characters. I can see her clicking more with Earthborn and Colonist Shep's the most though (whether it's the rough upbringing or the sense of loss). And it doesn't even matter Paragon or Renegade. All works. They did a good job there. I think Colonist Shep and Tali work well together too.. who better to go out of their way to save someone's home? They're both very vulnerable and he doesn't seem as much as an outsider in that case.

Just my 2c.

If only I could see how she would have reacted at the sight of the Normandy if its Cerberus insignia was removed when she is escaping from Purgatory.

I must admit, upon first meeting Jack, all I could think was "oh god what did I just let loose on my ship?"
After hearing what she had to say a few conversations in however, I felt empathetic to her. She was still tough as nails, but had a little girl just under the surface. I always did appreciate her quality of speaking her mind and never candy coating anything. She never could become my Shep's LI, but she was one of the most interesting characters in the series.

Not to mention she probably had the best, most talented voice actress of the trilogy. Image IPB

I remember not really liking Jack at first, every time I played ME2 I always stood by Liara. Then finally I said "what the heck" and went for Jack. She's one of those characters that are annoying at first glance, but once she lowers her armor becomes really likeable. Now she's by far my favorite romance, and it is now my Shepard's "canon" LI, as it were.

Jack really had one of the best character developments in the series, it's criminal how underused she was in ME3. I wish she'd been a squad member.

I Do not own these pictures; kudos, compliments, and applause to LovelyMaiden. I believe this accurately portrays Jack.

Thankfully, up above is just a dream:
Shepard hears Jack whimpering in her sleep, gently wakes her up, and then comforts her...
