And choosing for attractiveness is a negative because.....?
Like it or not, looks always come first for everybody.
You can't based a relation just on how good the other person looks.

Jack is a terrible person who has done terrible things. Out of all my Shepards, only one would even consider having her on the crew (if it weren't forced, that is). She was in that prison, in cryo stasis, for a reason. She is violent, impulsive, and reckless. Romance with her is the farthest thing from my mind.
I understand that terrible things were done to her, and I have sympathy for that. That does not excuse her crimes or her psychotic attitude. We are all responsible for how we treat others. Jack chose to be the animal that Cerberus wanted her to be, instead of rising above it. Getting involved with her is as likely to lead to a bullet in the back as it is to anything else (unless you metagame, of course).
Cerberus wanted her to be a weapon for them and she became their enemy. That's the exact opposite of what they wanted to achieve. As for her attitude, she was like that in ME2 only because she had never seen anything else. Ever since she was four she was put through years of abuse and torture by Cerberus. They conditioned her to feel good while killing by using drugs. Conditioning is not something you have much control over as it becomes a reflex after a while. After Cerberus, she only joined gangs because the only thing she knew was violence.
If you look at ME3 though, you can clearly see she's a lot more calm and a much better person. A terrible person wouldn't become a teacher that loves her student so much she would protect them with her own life. Jack is best described as a puppy who's been beaten for years only to one day fight back. Take that puppy and show it affection and love and you'll see that it will slowly break down the conditioning it's been through and it'll be a lot more gentle and less prone to attack.
