I want to know which one for you is the most overrated and overhyped infiltrator in the game and I want the reasons that make you think that.

SI.
Ugly, relies on a stagger power to land headshots and is out classed in every way by the GI.

don't get me wrong, i like him but if you can adjust to the "glass cannon" factor the GI kills with much more efficiency IMO.

Lolhomingnades, squishyness and recon mine recharge time. Only thing about him that's really good is speed.

I also don't like the Huntress, but haven't played her enough to know whether I'd really be worse with her or not.

Yup. Nailed it. The massive shield boost form stim packs was much better at getting out of trouble than repair matrix was.  All repair matrix did make less morons for me to revive.  Sadly, she is no longer lag resistant, which was the main benefit really.

I  view infiltrators as tiers

1)  GI, TGI...AIU also, but behind the other two by a bit

2) Drell,QMI, SI  .....Most of the other gun infiltrators are a bit behond those two, due to having slighly worse power synergy

*)AHI/Shadow - hard to compare them to other infiltrators.

*The wierd tier of people who don't really play like other infiltrators tier.

That said, all infiltrators are better than like 80% of the other classes, so can't complain to much.

Da****? Nothing "relies on a stagger power to land headshots". I could spec zero points into PM and ED and still get headshots with him. I think you might just need to learn how to play this game, Sir. If you have bad aim, every character you play with will rely on a stagger power to land headshots.
(For the record, I don't use ED to line up headshots, but to refill my shields if necessary.)

SI is a great character. He has better survivability than the GI, can refill his shields with ED, and Hunter Mode doesn't really give the GI an edge now that we have the Geth Scanner. Accuracy boost is for console scrubs and rate of fire is irrelevant on a lot of guns.

People, listen to yourselves in this thread. You're indoctrinated. Everyone who says SI is overrated should seriously reconsider.

Also, reading through these comments, I get the feeling people don't really know WHY the AIU is OP.

I agree with this 100%.  Especially now that RM is just a free revive power and very short duration afterburner.
