I don't think anyone truly understands the definition of "overrated." Not even the people who have already raised the issue of the definition of the word. For something to be overrated, there must be a tangible and universally recognizable test to determine whether the valuation it was given was true to reality or not. I thought I could solo a Gold game against the Geth and I failed: I overrated myself. Easy to see. I thought this weapon would kill a Banshee with one shot and it didn't: I overrated it. People think Obama is the fastest person in the world on the 100-m dash. They clearly overrate him.

What overrated DOESN'T mean is "my opinion is better than yours." Never. Not even if Roger Ebert (RIP) said a movie everyone likes actually sucks can that movie be labeled as "overrated." Not even if Edge had given Bioshock Infinite a 4/10 and said American press was overrating the game would they be right. You can't objectively measure the utility everyone should derive out of something, cardinally or ordinally. You can't assume the utility you derive is the same as that of other people. Those are, by definition, subjective matters. 

Even with this game, yes, there is DPS, which is a fairly objective measurement, but even if we could survey everyone for how much DPS they thought every kit puts out, to see if they overrate it, you can't assume everyone plays this game the same way and therefore puts out the same DPS with each kit as everyone else. I personally do infinitely better with the AIU than the GI (yes, I know, I'm a lowly newb — so lowly that I don't even deserve to use elite spelling), so how could you possibly dispute my favoring the AIU over the GI, if I can perform better with the former than the latter?

This post is preposterous from its very core. It only serves to show how much people on BSN overrate the universality of their own opinion. A better idea would have been: "Which Infiltrator do you not like as much as everyone else seems to?"

Yeah, because it's impossible to know what other peoples opinions are. It's not as if this is a forum where people share opinions constantly or something.

it's okay, RJ. you may have been directly and solely responsible for the AIU nerf, but we all still want to have a drink with you <3

The AIU got nerfed not because of your thread in particular, but because the entire bsn (including myself) exploded. I am not criticising you or anyone in particular. Back then, I myself added my own support to your thread.

Now I just wonder was it really worth it for all of us to get her nerfed. Especially since I was playing a geth infiltrator today and OMFG he is so much more awesome than the AIU .
