What weapon were you most excited about using after the Colelctor Ship in ME2 and/or the new weapson weight/cooldown system in ME3?

It could be a specific weapon or even just the class. How many engineers were stoked to finally rip through enemies with an assault rifle? Adepts excited to carry around the Widow in ME3? How many sentinels went heavy armor/shotgun combo?

Just throwing it out there... My engineer loved using the assault rifle. My sentinel's a big shotgun fan. My adept loved getting her hands on the Black Widow.

Anyone else?

I was a sentinel, and really happy to get to use my mattock. Same in ME3, only used an assault rifle and a light weight SMG.

Adept - assault rifle.

Playing through ME2 at the moment, I'd completely forgotten that you could train yourself on one of the classes of weapon that you didn't get initially.

Always feel a bit exposed with the adept class when I don't have a range weapon.

Adept, Vindicator Assault Rifle. (I love that gun, don't know why.)
Engineer, Sniper Rifle, any sniper rifle.

For all of those: Geth Plasma Shotgun.

ME3 system further encourages to not use any heavy weapons because you get bonus cooldown reduction.

I played as an engineer and a sentinel on separate playthroughs and really only used SMG and pistols anyway. my powers are better anyway.

Sentinel

I like to use the Arc pistol with the Heavy Barrel and Power Magnifier. Good at sniping heads and get the 200% bonus.

Now though, I kinda got bored of the Arc Pistol - the sounds it make is very annoying, so I am switching to a Valkyrie with a Piercing Mod and Extended Barrel for some serious fire power. I just love the way that weapon works. 193% bonus.

It makes no difference in mass effect 2, and aslong as you don't carry the heaviest sniper, shotgun and assault rifle, it shouldn't in mass effect 3.

Guns not needed.

Engineers have the three elements.
Adepts have biotics.

Sentinels have tech armor and a very smug Turian.

Super happy to get the sniper training for my engineer. Pretty sure the Mantis was my fav in ME3.

My Sentinel just uses the Paladin and nothing else. It's pretty a overpowered weapon anyway, and I still get max cooldown speed with it.

Plus, who needs weapons when you can single-handedly set up and detonate your own biotic combos?

ME2 Engineer (just imported from ME1 on Thursday): M-76 Revenant.

...what? I have the Gibbed Save Editor! Feck the limits! I also plan on using it to remove/stall the Post-IFF Timer (the one that triggers the Collector Attack) so I can take Legion on recruitment/loyalty missions without losing my crew or breaking the story.

For ME2 I was pumped to use the Mattock with my Sentinel.

My Adept and Engineer both picked Assault Rifle. Geth Pulse for the Adept and Mattock for the Engi.

My Sentinel picked Sniper Rifles and got the Viper. Majestic combination.

In ME2, I love the vindicator. I also like sniper rifles, but the weird zooming thing in ME2 made it more than a bit annoying for power using classes.

In ME3, I had a lot of fun equipping my Sentinel with the Revenant. Together with Armor piercing ammo as a bonus power it made her a really complete all-rounder - Biotics, Tech, Guns and survivabilit. Otherwise I mostly ended up just sticking to pistols.

In ME2, I have used shotguns and assault rifles on both Sentinel and Adept. I have used Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, and Assault Rifles on the Engineer.
- I think for Sentinel, I prefer shotguns, particularly the Geth Plasma Shotgun.
- For the Adept, I prefer the Vindicator as my backup weapon. It fits in great between the Carnifex and Tempest or Shuriken.
- For the Engineer, I like the Viper. Otherwise I think I prefer the Katana.

As for ME3: Now every class can use the Claymore. Fits in great with the Adept, but nearly as much with the Engineer, but it is doable. Otherwise I would just end up using DLC guns like the Punisher SMG and Executioner Pistol.

Almost all of my ME1 characters picked Sniper Rifles as their bonus talent (my first playthrough was as Infiltrator). So I grabbed that SR specialization as soon as I could in ME2.

As far as ME3, most of my Shepards either carry the Mattock or the Raptor, both of which are hybrid SR/ARs.

Actually I largely stopped using guns and began relying solely on Adept's innate powers.

Why use bullets when you can fire balls of raw gravity that curve around corners?

Sentinel + Assault Rifle. No other class can come even closer to it in terms of versatility and durability. I did a full trilogy run with this theme:

Mass Effect 1

Bonus talent: Assault Rifles.
Weapons of choice: HMWA Master line or Pulse Rifle.

Mass Effect 2

Bonus talent: Armor-Piercing Ammo.
Advanced training: Assault Rifles.
Weapons of choice: Geth Pulse Rifle, Locust, Carnifex and Particle Beam.

Mass Effect 3

Bonus talent: Defense Matrix.
Tip: Reset your powers in ME2 before importing, and completely evolve Defense Matrix (shield bonus, power synergy, power recharge) before anything else. You can completely forget about Tech Armor, and focus on the other powers/skills.
Ammo powers: evolve the squad versions of your squad's ammo powers.
Passive skills: Don't forget to maximize your Weight Capacity as soon as possible.
Weapon of choice: Particle Rifle V as your sole weapon, modded with a Magazine Upgrade and a Piercing Mod.

-nova cancels all up in this thread-

I remember in mass effect two how anxious I was to get my hands on an assault rifle, as tempting as the Claymore was it couldn't trump my beloved Eviscerator. The next run through I had some fun as a sniper vanguard. "Oh what was that? A sniper over there? NOPE biotic charge time!"

Then in Mass Effect Three I only carried that same shotgun and an avenger the entire time. I was glad they opened up the weapon system for that reason alone.
