If they both release at that price point I'll just upgrade MOBO/CPU/GPU for a bit more and wait a few years for great games + price drop / new SKUs.

Next gen is depressing me. I burned out on PS3 and went back to my PS2 and got a 3DS. Having a blast with both. It all seems so refreshing.

They have come out and said they are not; that being said, in February they files a patent for the technology that will allow a console to place a tracker on the disc of a game and will, effectively, prevent it from being played on any other console than the first one it is loaded on. So used games, ranted games and borrowed games will all be useless.
However, no confirmation that this actually will be used in the PS4. They just filed the patent rights to it.

Might as well move to the PC if both Sony and Microsoft are pulling stupid crap to make extra money. I can't spend $60+ on every game, especially considering the questionable quality and semi-completedness of many games these days. Then again, I'll have to deal with DRM if I switch to the PC.
The consumers are going to get screwed so bad during the next generation. I don't really think I want to continue gaming. : /

Just speculation due to their patent on "anti-used game tech" that I heard about through word-of-mouth. I haven't read an article from a reliable source about it nor have I seen any direct developer quotes. It's just something that doesn't seem like much of a stretch. If it turns out to be wrong I'll happily admit that my speculation was wrong.
