Lv 17-18, Mage PC, Alistair, Lelianna and dunno about the last one. Morri I think.
That did for me, on Nightmare.

But I´ve seen claims to have her soloed, so just try.

Winter forge mod will let you solo anything. hides the cheating too.

Don't believe everything you read.

heh...I guess in videos where people are soloing her on the console versions (very obvious by the UI) are using Winter Forge too?

The game is very soloable even on Nightmare. Heck there are people who have pushed it even further and are doing naked runs.

Seems that way. Funny what you miss when you don't look at every thread.

On my first playthrough, there was much death and revival. In the end, only Wynne remained standing, using Vessel of the Spirit... but she didn't have any potions, so couldn't get the mana to revive the others again. Thankfully she was way back on the bridge, inaccessible to the dragon, and was able to get a few staff shots off to kill it before its ability to pull her close to it recharged. I felt soooo cheesy winning it that way.

On my second playthrough, I'm aiming for no injuries for any party member whatsoever (reload if anyone dies), so it was a tough fight. However, as I knew the game better on this run, it was much easier. Party was around level 12: my elven rogue, Alistair, Morrigan, and Wynne. In general, both Morri and Wynne stayed well back on the bridge while Alistair and my Warden hit the dragon in melee. My rogue had momentum and duelling constantly, and Alistair had shield wall. (My first playthrough, I don't think I picked up momentum until... level 15 or something? What was I thinking?) Both Morri and Wynne had healing spells. Morri had force field, of course (sadly, Wynne didn't have it yet - that would have made it *even* easier), so used that any time a character got grabbed. If it was on cooldown, Morri would hit the dragon with cone of cold or Wynne would use glyph of paralysis against it.  (I find stonefist, which I'd normally have Wynne use to help overwhelmed melee characters, tends not to work against dragons.)  If all those spells were on cooldown, the mages would just keep healing the grabbed character until they came out of cooldown. Last, but not least, this is the only fight during which I always use balms. Seriously, I keep warmth balms for dragon fights and sell all the rest.

Can't think of too much else right now. :-)

Well, the cultists are very prudish as well. I guess the egg didn't roll too far from the dragon, as it were.

The biggest key to that dragon is what level you are when you first go to the Gauntlet .. she'll be about 3 levels above your level then.. you go there at level 10 she'll be 13ish, you leave and come back later and she's still 13 while you may now be level 20... If you wait till the very last to go there she could easily be in the 20s depending upon your level and make the fight very very hard.

I am aware, I just always thought the Haven Village was where I got Shale from so never went there to have a look around until like very close to the end of the game ._.

Mmm died dragon again, my strategy was to go in as a AW/BM at lvl 25 solo nightmare run 100 resist on everything and just beat the crap out of her.

For first timers on this fight:

1) Bring a tank (Allistair will do)

2) Bring a healer to heal the tank as soon as he/she goes under 75%. Having a secondary healer to do the same as soon as the tank goes under 25% or 50% (you pick) will be helpfull

3) Make sure everybody but the tank uses ranged weaponry (bows on warriors/rogues, staves on mages)

4) Simply tank & fire away, this fight can be done without even pausing this way.
