I think AQ is just trolling to prove a point. 

 

I'm not trolling anything. It's just that too many shady people with interesting connections come up here (like Link), post some times, drop some funny stories and want us to believe it. 

Maybe I'm wrong. And If I'm wrong I'm wrong and I'm sorry. But at this point I think Platinum solos and posts are worthless. The game's protection is a joke, you can edit it in a myriad of ways and make it better for you. And if you're a good player to begin with, you're gonna benefit from those changes like a mo-fo. 

I respect Air Quotes and his exposure of some of these guys.

A lot of people don't want to admit it, but at any elite level of anything (sports, card games, video games), those at the highest level with access to blur the lines between cheating and playing by the rules will typically be using some sort of PED (Performance Enhancing Drug), whether it be anabolics, moding game files, weighing cards, or human growth hormone.

The majority of people won't want to believe that this type of "cheating" is rampant in their beloved hobbies/sports, but its there, and in huge quantities.

I think Air Quotes knows this (correct me if I am wrong) and thats why he is willing to put himself out there and call these people out on it.

Yeah, but there is a fine line between giving those who deserve it a bit of exposure, and starting a witch hunt that make all the forum nuts and the ambiance completly deleterious.

That fine line is called Self Moderation and that line has been crossed far too many times.

nice video, but how in the world do you consistently dodge atlas rockets? Those snipers ignored you too. good combo skills though. Getting two banshees stuck in the ceiling was nice too lol.

If anything in this video is fishy it would be the AI being horrible at times with phantoms attacking him in the back without a sync kill or snipers refusing to scope in on him. That and the fact a lot of enemies missed their shots while he was out in the open.

I envy you for the fact those ravagers didn't shoot your through walls after landing their first hit and in fact, hardly ever shot at you, phantoms didn't sync kill you while being right behind you, phantoms missing their shots 3 feet in front of you and the fact you never took any damage while you rolled. That is not at all my experience in plat games. If only I could dodge as good.

i don't accept that.

There are tools that are at everyones's disposition to report cheaters, and if you don't know how to, you can PM a moderator.

But setting the forum on fire for a "reality check" is not a solution, it only make the forum a bad place to be.

1st part is a slippery slope argument.

So, what if the moderators don't do anything about the cheater... for months? Do we still allow people to idolize or accept these "accomplishments" at face value?

can you elaborate on what you think is "really really bad" because i have no clue what you are talking about, specifically.

Also, even if n7-link's account wasn't wiped, what Air Quotes did worked, and it worked quickly, unlike the ban waves
