Didn't some developer hint that "we may see Hawke and the Warden again," or something like that and that's why these threads keep popping up?

Of course I hope that since then they've realized that was an unfeasable and terrible idea and scrapped it. Please just let player characters retire in peace.

I believe they said that IF they did it, it would have to be extremely carefully done.

If some people want to see their warden or hawke again more power to them, But just because you don't. doesn't mean their wants are any less important to them as yours are to yourself keep that in mind.

It's not exactly that we don't period. In my case, it's because I've seen what happens when they do.

No they are two different characters.

@odanurr

Bioware had no control over Revan and the Exile canon. That was Lucas, canonizing the star wars lore.

It would be too much of a headache on the part of the developers to include either of them, especially the Warden- think of all the variations in appearance alone that would need to be accounted for.
And the fan rage would be of truly epic proportions. (Warden would be ruined forever!!!111!!) because no one would be satisfied with how they implement the warden into the story.

How well would the faces translate into the new engine anyway? Honestly I don't think it's worth it. Rather spin some stories about what happened to them varying based on their personality and choices, it would be waaay easier to do then making a suitably ambiguous model for either. I think.

Yeah, the engine shift pretty much kills this. Hells, they had trouble with face imports in ME3.

Lol no.

Vague mentions I can handle, but I wouldn't want my Warden or Hawke showing up in the flesh. Their LI/BFF could mention them, but no more

Probably not either, too many people would be angry if it wasn't exactly how they portrayed or pictured their hero in their mind. I wouldn't be too picky for example Origins: Human noble-Queen I would be happy if they showed her with a cameo with Alistair and that's it, DA2- sarcastic Hawke mage- if they show her protecting mages in battle as a cameo I'd be good. I wouldn't need all the extra details I put into my characters, such as my Human Noble being a devout follower of the Chantry or my mage being sympathetic to blood mages in the game. It would take crazy amounts of time and resources to show that level of detail in a game that isn't focused on those heroes. I would view them more as a nice suprise rather than an intregal part of the game.

I think we should see the warden's send off in a future dragon age game, if he/she survived origins, where the warden takes the journey down to the deep roads and kills as many darkspawn as possible before he/she submits to the taint.

I hope we do get to see our Warden helping with the war. If you chose a mage, which I did, he would most likely help the rebellion and be a really good spokesperson for all mages. If you chose a warrior or rogue they would most likely help the Templars in the war and speak against the mages, thus allowing more people to join their cause. Hawke could also be apart of this brining along whoever you romanced for each past PC.

Did everyone forget that in DA2 during interrogation scenes and ending Cassandra Pentaghast mentions multiple times the Seekers have been looking for both the Hero and Champion for answers and help in hopes to calm the tide of the war? (At least she mentioned looking for my Warden) One would think that they would pop up at least briefly somewhere since they are obviously needed to some degree. Bioware dropping both of these characters I believe wouldn't be the best move since they have built them up so high throughout the series. The only thing that is defence worthy of those saying that the Warden probably won't appear is because he/she can die.

Correct me if I am wrong but I remember that Bioware said a very large chunk of people had their wardens survive and in a lot of the novels and comics it depicts the warden surviving.

But one thing is certain and unacceptabel

Thay cannot continue spawning characters and leave the story open for each.

Hawke simply dissapeared and that is still open.

Wardens story is still open saying that after WH you either walk away or go through the missor. unless you commited the US.

But i have said it Before and i say it again: they continuecreate storyline and not make an end to them. otherwise therewill be difficult for them to keep track on each storylin and impact.

^This. Hopefully the new elves will be better.

It'd be impossible for the game to assume the personality of the warden for each and every player's warden. I'd rather there was a brief scene showing them or just a nod to their legacy in a conversation.

I highly suspect we WILL see Alistair and will get to hear from him POSSIBLY what the Warden is up to and given the nature of the conflict that Hawke basically helped to start (along with Anders) Hawke will also be mentioned multiple times I bet.

See either of them, as in they will have a character model? I doubt unless mages or Templars start building statues of Hawke depending on which side you choose or a group of Fereldan refugees with some sort of "shrine"/monument to The Warden.

Given it's in Orlais and involves the Chantry and the way Leliana was there at the end of the last game I bet she will (at least in my import) mention the Warden if the PC gets to speak with her as she was my Warden's LI.

My Warden had a pretty complex personality; and unless Laura Bailey's voicing her it would ruin the voice I had in my head.

Unless we're playing as them I'd say leave them alone.

In the thought of previous PC's appearing in Dragon Age 3, or in any other future Dragon Age titles
the first thing that crosses my mind is that ''they will ruin it, there is no way they can picture successfully MY Warden or MY Hawke cause MY characters are complex and my role playing decisions define them and what about the graphics of the faces etc etc so it's for the best if they not appear''
This is my pessimistic point of view, it happens a lot especially to rpg-nerds like me.
The truth is that ther is not only one MINE Warden/ Hawke.
Cause I have 4 wardens a male Human noble/dwarf/ city elf and a female dalish elf.
Some of them died others did the ritual, some passed through the mirror others not.
The same goes for DA2 saves but with less variety in different choices.
I loved the potential of choices and the variety of Origins in DAO. It was perfect to have such freedom of choice really.
I also loved that Hawke was fully voiced. It had its disadvantages I know ( only human race, no origins) but i liked it equally.
Realistically speaking i find it impossible for Bioware to make a perfect Warden cameo. Hawke might be a little easier, but for the Warden is too hard.
So I would be pleased even with an imperfect one. A canon Warden.
In this scenario it wont be MY Warden I know , but he/she will be THE Warden.
Cause the Warden is an important person, a symbol in DA universe despite his/her race, despite his/her fate (dear or alive).
So yes i want to see the Warden, i want to see this important person again, see him/her interacting with the current PC
or previous party members or whatever...
The same goes for Hawke too , but i think its far more easier and doable for a Hawke cameo.
I'm willing to ''sacrifice'' role playing choices of any of my wardens/hawkes in order to see them
interacting, joining forces, or just compering their mabari hounds, cause even an imperfect one
it will still be a meating of Dragon Age's important persons.

Facial importing seems horrible, have you seen Alistair in DA2? He looks bloated. I'm sorry I spent a good amount of time perfecting this face on Orgins for console and I don't want to see it mess up like Alistair's.
