ME3, Dragon Age 2, Gears of War 3, and a few others.

Nothing will ever be disappointing as Diablo 3. That was a massive kick in the head.

Bioshock Infinite. Actual environments aside, I found the gameplay a bore, the characters/dialogue lackluster (compared to the original), and the story took too many weird turns for my liking.

Those I can think of at the moment - Metal Gear Rising, Metal Gear Solid 4, BioShock 2, Silent Hill Homecoming, Resident Evil 5, Uncharted 3, Jak X (Okay, Naughty Dog, it was fun with Crash Team Racing but not with Jak)

I think Bioshock Infinite is great game and I quite like the characters and its fun to jump onto foes from a sky hook, but the bolded part I agree with.

The Witcher. After reading about how awesome the first game was, I picked it up on Steam. It turned out to be a colossal disappointment for a number of reasons such as the combat system, the writing/dialogue in the opening act (in the castle), and the bad (English) voice acting.

I didn't find any weird turns. All the turns and plot twist all made sense and where fantastic.

Dragon Age II

ME3 I was warned ahead of time so it doesn't count.

I've never played more than fifteen minutes without it crashing and everyone says it's a really good game. :(

Heh guess I'm fortunate to first try it many patches later when it was being sold for $20.

Mass Effect 3 and not just the ending. The moment the leak happened it just went downhill from there.

How did Elizabeth get her ability to create rips?, How does killing DeWitt before he becomes Comstock stop the Comstocks in the other reailities? its just werid, but that discussion belongs in the Bioshock Infinite ending thread so i'll leave it at that.

The last two Call of Dutys. The previous ones were so much fun; I have no idea what went wrong.

Both of those are explained in the game. It's not the games fault you did not pay attention.

Honestly?

Fifa 09

It had been years since I had bought a Fifa game, and when I read how they were implementing mouse support and revamping it for PC I was like "woah, time to finally go back to Fifa, hooray!". Then I saw the actual implementation and was like... "this is the same old crap!!  :crying:"

Can't think of anything else tbh. There have been games I haven't liked and games that I liked but had aspects that bothered me a lot, but to think of one massive disappointment is hard for me, since I never really hype myself for anything.

That's odd.

The game rarely crashes on my PC and I also have tons of mods installed.

I can usually play it for five to six hours without crashing. The only problem I have is it sometimes stops working when I try to load a save game. When that happens I have to open the task manager, close the executable and restart the game. If the task manager fails to open, then I have to restart the PC...

Oh, honorary mention to Morrowind, because it never worked on any PC I installed it (3 at least).

Too many to list. The biggest so far was probably Temple of Elemental Evil. I had high hopes after following its development for quite some time only to end up with an unfinished, hacked to pieces, bug ridden mess. Its only saving grace was an impressive translation of 3.5e D&D rules to a video game.

After all the outstanding Infinity Engine titles and Neverwinter Nights, I didn't expect such a bad D&D game.

Honorable mention goes to Beyond the Beyond.

At least it wasn't Pools of Radiance... that game as shipped reformatted peoples' primary hard drives.

The direction of ME3, vanilla game specifically. Lack of exclusives on the Xbox 360.

Darksiders 2. Wasn't expecting RPG elements in my adventure game. Am I even on Earth anymore? And one annoying Scottish giant was already overbearing.

Hmmm I have to think about this one...

I can't really think back very far but I would say Saints Row the 3rd when I compare it to two. But only when I'm doing the comparison.

It's fine as a standalone.

Seagloom, did you try ToEE again with the Circle of 8 mod? It's freaking awesome if you have that installed.

I hate to bandwagon on this one, but probably ME3.

I haven't been disappointed by too many games, though; I'm usually fairly careful about what I buy, and generally don't set my expectations too high.

It's interesting to see different perspectives on games that I thought were enjoyable, yet failed for others.

Too be honest though, I don't think I've ever experienced a disappointment in gaming, till ME3. Like, there would be games that I thought were garbage, but I would usually just rent those games back in the day, just because they seemed alright, but I guess since internet trends and leaks and such have changed the way the gaming industry has spread their focus in the past years... that can be a factor.

Also, since ME3, I've played excellent games, Journey, Walking Dead, Bioshock Infinite, LIMBO, etc, but I guess I didn't really hype myself up for those games, I just went in fresh.
