I hate to bandwagon on this one, but probably ME3.

I'm in the same boat, ME3 is about at the top of my list of most disapointing games.

Mass Effect 3's ending. The trilogy set a standard of video game greatness so high, one in which most games never even see a glimps of, to reach the end and have that dud waiting for you was tough. No other game for me has ever come close to the bar set by the Mass Effect trilogy. I think this is engrained in my memory because of this. The overall product is still second to none, with nothing even close behind in a second or third.

ME3 did not disappointment me, had no expectations for the game thanks to ME2. ME2 would win the award for biggest disappointment but Diablo 3 swooped in.

Diablo 3 and that ****ty drop system they originally had.  I heard it's pretty sweet now, but I lost too much interest to venture in again.

What, you didn't like fighting the company for 80% of the game? :P

Exactly, I did enjoy playing my Monk, even got to ACT 4 in Inferno, but I just had enough of the inflation of prices of items and the lack of support and gameplay issues. Plus, I don't have enough time to get back into, even if I wanted to.

Mass Effect 3 and Fall Out: New Vegas. But mostly, ME3. It shouldn't even be called a Bioware game.

I have several.

Mass Effect 3
Resistance 3 (unlike in ME3's case this one's ending really did ruin the franchise)
Street Fighter X Tekken (not so much the game itself as the scumbag disc-locked content in it)
Bayonetta 2 being announced as a Pii U exclusive (never has a game announcement felt like such a punch to the gut)
Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm(storywise)

Bioshock Infinite. Actual environments aside, I found the gameplay a bore, the characters/dialogue lackluster (compared to the original), and the story took too many weird turns for my liking.

I think Bioshock Infinite is great game and I quite like the characters, but the bolded part I agree with.

I didn't find any weird turns. All the turns and plot twist all made sense and where fantastic.

How did Elizabeth get her ability to create rips?, How does killing DeWitt before he becomes Comstock stop the Comstocks in the other reailities? its just werid, but that discussion belongs in the Bioshock Infinite ending thread so i'll leave it at that.

Both of those are explained in the game. It's not the games fault you did not pay attention.

They may be explained, but that doesn't mean the explanation is adequate.

Let's not turn this into a debate, haha. If someone doesn't like said game, that's fine, neither is right or wrong in that matter.

Journey was incredible.

Another one that comes to mind recently was Army of Two: Devil's Cartel. The series didn't have much going for it in the first place. So they took out the bromance, splits up the best buds for life, then tacked on an abrupt and forced ending.

At least it wasn't Pools of Radiance... that game as shipped reformatted peoples' primary hard drives.

I had that too. I wasn't disappointed by PoR, however. I was furious. It has the dubious honor of being one of few games I destroyed. I snapped the disc in half a day or two after trying it. ToEE was bad, but I had just enough fondness for what it could've been to keep it. Heck, I even bought it again off a GOG sale. Figured having a digital copy on hand would be handy if I wanted to play it again.

Eurypterid wrote...

Seagloom, did you try ToEE again with the Circle of 8 mod? It's freaking awesome if you have that installed.

Not yet. I've been told as much before. :) I downloaded the Co8 mod awhile back, and redownload it when I hear of an update. I haven't been able to bring myself to play ToEE longer than a few hours since those early days, though. And those attempts were before learning of Co8's mod.

Perhaps its just because its so recent, but the ending of Bioshock Infinite was incredibly disappointing to me. Loved the game itself but the ending just didnt deliver any level of satisfaction to me. Had I not loved the game and story to that point I probably wouldnt have cared about the ending.

Dishonoured also disappointed me. I expected to love the heck out of it, but for all its talk of player freedom there really wasn't any. The levels were contained and linear, the only variance was how you chose to deal with enemies. I guess I was expecting much more of an open world based on all the pre-release hype.

The Witcher was a disappointment too. Largely because I was stuck playing a character I couldnt stand. But my expectations weren't overly high on it.

I found Bioshock Infinite to be underwhelming, stunning visuals aside.  The game's story just jumped around too much for my taste.  It was by no measure a bad game, just not as good as the stellar orignal.

*slight spoilers*

My issue isn't even so much the explanations, but instead that it feels like the game unnecessarily forced Infinite into the same universe/continuity as the original Bioshock. I was comfortable with the lighthouse at the start as a clever homage, but instead that turned into a full-fledged story element.

Bioshock's plot twist had a certain simplicity to it. Infinite dabbles too much in time travel and alternate realities for my tastes. And not in a manner as interesting as, say, Legacy of Kain.

I'm an Aliens fan, but I managed to resist the impulse to buy it after reading the reviews and having two different friends link the same hilarious GIF.

On a similar note, I'm particularly glad as a fan of The Walking Dead that I did not buy TWD: Survival Instinct (read the reviews, and...no...not even with Michael Rooker & Norman Reedus being in the game :P ).
