anyone else worry, that a couple years down the line:

you will go over to your game rack and think "Ohh yeah... Mass Effect... I enjoyed that Series, I think I'll give it another go."

You then take yor Disc over to your Machine and put the Disc in, only to find out you can never play it again because EA or ORIGINs servers are no longer supporting this product? meaning we could not install the DLC, or Patches, since it would not be able to contact servers that no longer support it?

Sure, I would not have to worry about ME1 or ME2, since I have older versions of those that don't require the servers... but still..

I could always hope they add it to gog.com . but that could take quite awhile...

Anyone else worried about this?

Critical Mission Failure. You don't need to be online to play. Also, Origin.

Is this for PC? Because with X360, I have no issues playing offline with all (single-player) DLC downloaded.

of course.
but we'll have to accept it as EA continues to destroy gaming.
I doubt you'll want to play mass effect after ME4 if EA's still around affecting it.

My biggest fear is forgetting the ending in a few years, then replaying the entire trilogy and experiencing it all over again.

That's close to mine.

I'll decide I want to play again, then go "Wait, that's the series that started good then got all pretentious at the end"

How could you  possibly forget something   so  epically horrible as the Bioware endings?   ... the endings are  an event  like when   the bug meteor  wiped out   Buenos Aires in Starship Troopers ... just the thought of ME in the future should cause you to cringe

I have bigger worries then whether or not I can play a game in the future. Like, what if Avengers2 sucks? Or, what if we're plunged into darkness by an EMP detonated over Ohio utilizing a NorKo high gamma yield nuke on an Iranian Sahab2 missile fired from a Russian K-Line missile delivery system which completely destroys the 300 super transformers which powers America's electrical grid, which would result in 60- 90% of the US population dead after a year? Considering these transformers take 16 months to build, aren't built in the US (and couldn't be after an EMP anyways) and we have no spares....also considering an EMP would knock out all vehicles not in a faraday cage or stored behind concrete/cinderblocks....well. Let's just say I truly envy your biggest worry being about playing a game <G>.

Or....IS it your biggest fear now? Muahahahahahhaahhahaaha!

I said my biggest fear "for the trilogy"..

My "biggest fear" is someone detonateing Point lepreau (nearest Nuclear reactor), as such one of our allies fires a nuke, and another fires one to retaliate. suddenly every nuke is being fired off every witchway, the only amount of people to surviven wouldn't even take up half the size of Halifax, we can not repopulate due to radiation poisoning, and I am stuck at my hunting cottage catching radiated fish, killing radiated wild game, and growing radiated fruit and veggie.

Oh, I know; I just felt like being asinine <LOL>.   Dont' worry though, if your reactor went kablooey none of your allies would fire nukes in retaliation.  Your own country would have to do that.  And don't knock irradiated game and veggies.  Glow in the dark foods are SO much easier to find when you get the midnight munchies.

Wait, Canada has nuclear weapons? Pretty certain that it does not. That would seem odd considering their involvement with the NPT among other treaties concerning nuclear weapons.

well... sorta...

we do not have the Weapons themselves, but we still do have a couple Delivering systems laying around...

we do not use them for Nuclear weapons, but I am pretty sure they could be converted into firing Nuclear arms..

but like you said, our government would never actually convert these delivery systems into a weapon of mass destruction in any form.

That is why I love the Canadians. Thanks for the quick response.

Yeah, I suppose I derailed things a bit, but I was curious about a detail in one of the posts.

As far as the actual topic, I guess it would be something of a concern several years down the road. I would not worry about the near future, though. The multiplayer component would end with the servers being taken offline, but the SP and the DLCs could probably be made available offline without having to go through the DLC authentication process.

My biggest fear for the entire trilogy is that no other developers will follow its example and start creating new immersive universes complete with romances and customizable PCs, forcing me to stay forever dependent on BioWare even if they churn out another writing disaster.

Sony for example has said psn purchases (dlc) won't carry over to PS4. Bad business this is.

UNACCEPTABLE.

Look, Obsidian could probably be pressured to do it if we kidnapped their pets. Who's with me? We'll build a team and make it happen. A little chloroform, a little intimidation, some Guy Fawkes masks a la V for Vendetta, some "Become a second BioWare or Muffy gets it" notes written in mismatched letters clipped from newspapers. We could do it.
