My biggest fear for the entire trilogy is that no other developers will follow its example and start creating new immersive universes complete with romances and customizable PCs, forcing me to stay forever dependent on BioWare even if they churn out another writing disaster.

I hate to say it, but I think that might be a reality. Guess I might have to give up on RPG's for a while...

UNACCEPTABLE.

Look, Obsidian could probably be pressured to do it if we kidnapped their pets. Who's with me? We'll build a team and make it happen. A little chloroform, a little intimidation, some Guy Fawkes masks a la V for Vendetta, some "Become a second BioWare or Muffy gets it" notes written in mismatched letters clipped from newspapers. We could do it.

Legitimately, I could probably organize a strike from an alpha team.

Gross misallocation of Grey-Tier assets, and I'd be kicked out of the Army and locked up in Leavenworth. Totally worth it?

Well depending on how Project Eternity goes we may get that anyway.  No pets harmed.

Now there's a fear, or at least a concern:  that in-depth RPGs will only be available via Kickstaeters

Just pirate the game and DLCs and you won't need to be online. If you bought it you don't even have to have a bad conscience about it.

Legitimate concern for PC players. I play on PS3 for ME so I won't worry about this, but yeah that sucks for you PC guys. I play BF3 on PC and I could see them taking the servers down for that even tho I've invested 100 bucks in the game so.... Yeah. Gotta love EA.

That's why I think Single Player is so important. MP will die off eventually, but a well written SP campagn will stay with us forever.

Actually it's not.
You can Play ME3 on a PC without any internet connection. I can play Pong from 1972 on my up to date Gaming PC.  Do you think that you will have your PS3 around in 40 Years?
PC gamers will always find a way to play a the game they purchased, servers on or not.

That's assuming you've kept the game installed all that time.

People who bought it on Origin do not.

Not that I ever want to play ME3 again.

My biggest fear is that they were for reals with that ending and weren't just on some epic troll. A year later, and I'm pretty sure my fears are real.

Evan People who only have a digital copy can make a Backup of their Origin Games easily.

And you don't need to authenticate using a serial key/ Origin when you install?

still, you can't install it without Origin, your DLCs are not on Disc, and it won't let you play DLCs anyways if it can't make the connection to the servers to Authenticate..

Than just use an emulator or buy it off of steam, and that should fix the problem.

Or if your on console, than it's no real biggie since the game doesn't need always online mode to play. I've disconnected from origins and still managed to play leviathan, so it's probably not an issue.

Unless you need to play MP, in whcih case your screwed.

I made a backup of all my ME3 content, so I have the DLC's on Disk. And you can play ME3 with the DLC's offline. You can test this by yourself. Physically remove the networkable from your PC and Play the Game.

Of course I need them, and right now that's not a Problem. But if the EA servers go down on some point in the future, it's pretty easy to change that.
