There's a lot of stuff that I like the sound of on my own characters but hate the sound of on other characters. I notice this in particular with voice sets but there's a handful of guns that soud ridiculous when another player has them.  It's weird.

Scions shot sounds awesome but when they land is what makes me cringe

You can fix sounds with the MUTE button. What you can't fix are annoying UIs, repetitive flashes, and the worst of them all the friggin text popping up on the screen while you're in combat (challenge completions, objective completions, money earned etc).

For ME4 I'm making a popup blocker mod.

I don't really mind any sounds but I can confirm with 100% certainty that my wife HATES banshees.  "Ugh why are they screaming so much?  Seriously do you have to keep the sound up?  What are you doing with your life?"
