I bought this game recently and everything was going swimmingly until the quest to join the city watch or thieves. When i talk to cormick the only dialogue options I get (after the one about aldanon and blacklake) are farewell and something about not needing the city watch to enter blacklake. I've tried the stuff described here but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated

Edit: Nevermind got it eventually after trying the stuff i linked yet again
