What? I have no idea what you're talking about. There are plenty Asian people in the trilogy.

What's with the lack of fat people? That's what I want to know. I want to see a fat asari.

And ruin my perverse fantasies in the progress? NEVER!

If you're going that route then, why the lack of african americans (to be politically correct)? If I remember right, Jacob, Ronald Taylor, Anderson, and Brynn Cole (I think) the only african americans in the entire trilogy. They show more asians than african americans in the trilogy. I might be forgetting a couple, but you get my point.

Are we going by voice actors or not?

You may as well add Ashley if we're.
Otherwise Anderson was born in london, can't speak for the others.
Also black is black.

It's suggested the British Samatha Traynor is ethnically south asian. She gets mildly offended at the party when
Kaidan Alenko assumes she knows something about Curry...

Kaidan, by the way, is the Japanese word for Ghost Story...

There's Fai Dan, Ethan Jeong, Emily Wong, Maeko Matsuo, Samesh and Nirali Bhatia, Aresh Agdashloo, Derek Izunami, Shu Qian, Kasumi Goto, Keiji Okuda, Kai Leng, and probably a few others I'm forgetting...

Also, Shepard can be any ethnicity...

There's this, but yeah, I can understand what the OP's saying.

According to Revelation, most humans are of mixed ethnicity in the MEU.  Anderson's has some black, white and Native American.  Kai Leng is a mix of Chinese, Russian and some other races.  Kaidan looks like he has some Asian in him.  Ashley looks kind of mixed.

My "canon" is Indian.  *shrugs*

It reflects a fairly north american view of the world I think. Nationality's chances of being involved depend on their prevalence in the consciousness of the writers. And I guess the availability of voice actors might play a role, unless you fancy handwaving about universal translators making everyone sound american.

I don't really think there's a "social justice" issue worth worrying about, but there might be a realism issue if you felt like worrying about it.

Meh and all Russian have this extremely stupid accent, the french people have even more stupid accent. No east Europeans in the story, not even Germans with their extremely cliched in western media portrayed accent. Sigh, so politically incorrect. Normandy should contain every nationality on the world.

Also where are all Irish people? So racist bioware..

Because the Mass Effect face generator does an atrocious job of creating Asian-looking NPC's. The annoying Exo-Geni guy on Feros is an example of this.

It's clearly that dastardly white privilege at work again.

Jacob Taylor, Steve Cortez, just to break away from the stated all Caucasian myth.  Let's not forget James Vega, while we're at it, also not Caucasian.  I'm thinking somebody just wasn't paying enough attention.

Also who were the picks to be humanity's first councilor?

Donnel Udina, clearly of Indian descent, and Anderson, clearly black.

Synthetics were under-represented on the Normandy.

Clearly a vast right wing conspiracy.

According to the forums, EDI overrepresented enough in 3 to make up for it... Posted Image

It's a game made in North America. A lot of characters in North American shows a predominately white. It's just the most natural thing to see on TV and stuff. They could've put a lot of differently raced NPCs in the game if they wanted to with no consequence, but I don't think they out a lot of thought into it. It's just a natural occurrence that's pretty much overlooked because it just happens most of the time.

there are too many white folks in the future...

First there was Pax Romana. Then Pax Mongolica. Next, Pax Britannica.

And now the current era - Pax Americana. A single culture dominating world development. America. And America is white. The British were white. I'm not quite sure how white the Romans were, but there's no question that Rome and Greece before it are considered the birthplace for many of the ideals we associate with the Western World.

As for the Mongols...twice as bright, half as long I guess. A couple of times as big as Rome ever was, but didn't leave near as much of a legacy. Didn't last near as long.

This is an extremely Western ethnocentric view of history.

Pax Romana? Maybe in the West. In the East China was at the height of the Han Dynasty, probably double the size of the Romans in population.

Also, in between Pax Mongolica and Pax Romana the Muslims were extremely influential (i.e. while Europe was in the dark ages the Muslim world was flourishing until the Mongols came along).

It may be because "asians" are intented to be rather rare in the MEU - as are the other races as well.

Actually, I was rather pleasantly surprised how they went through with the "all races started blending together in the future"-premise, if you look at Anderson, Kaidan, Ashley, Udina, Jimbo Vega, Kalisah, (Armando) Bailey... all of them have features of each.

In case of the above stated without a unique face model, it's of course hard to tell whether it's intentional or just the engine giving that impression by accident.

Yeah, I think they did a decent job with the melting pot premise too.  Revelation describes it a bit.

lol, so true. I just want to have a Renegade interrupt that goes like:

"Nice curve." or "I'll call you when I run out of available cover."
