And the ewoks... nvm about the ewoks they dont exist, ground forces got attack by specialized rebel infantry....

It was almost a disaster for the Rebels. Only 3 fighters plus the Millenium Falcon survived the battle. Behind Luke and Wedge, Red Squadron was entirely wiped out. One Y-wing pilot survived from Gold Squadron, Keyan Farlander. A lot of Rebels died. And then the aftermath....

Deny it all you want, it happened.

There is literally 1,000,000,000 years of history in the Star Wars universe. I'm a huge Star Wars fan.

Revan? Thrawn? Mara Jade? Kyle Katarn? Bane? Wedge Antilles? K'Kruhk? Some of the most kickass Star Wars characters ever.

Boba Fett? Don't knock the Fettman.

Boba Fett kinda sucks.  I mean, what did he even do?

I'd like to point out, by the way, that most of the characters you've named were really developed/created/given life in EU. So technically, you're both right. I don't give Lucas credit for the genius of the writers. (Although, I do consider the KOTOR-era stuff to be its own universe, to be honest. Still just as fun though!) Even if Lucas created Wedge Antilles, it was really Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston that gave him character. I'm even naming my firstborn son after him. :D (And hubby has no say. I mean.. how badass is that? Naming our son after the only individual to survive BOTH Death Star assaults. Shepard could learn a thing or two.)

He uh.. refused to be digested! Yaaay. :P You want a real bounty hunter? IG-88 FTW.

Most efficient, ruthless, and feared Bounty Hunter in the galaxy. Reformed the Mandalorian Clans. Fought Vader to a standstill, with a lightsaber. Put the fear of Mandalore into the Vong.

Read this. It will fix any concerns you have with Fett being a total badass.

Dude the EU is where the real Star Wars is. Not in the movies. The EU is... magnificent.

The KotOR era is 4,000 years before the Galactic Empire. Of course it's basically its own universe.

Hell yes to that. The original trilogy is fun enough to watch, but what I grew up with- what I spent hours and hours ready and mulling over were the books in the EU. (And hating anything written by female Star Wars writers. I'm sorry, but there is no amount of terrible that can even begin- Oh, wait. Female Star Wars writers are like pre-EC ME3 ending compared with an actual ending that required thought and development time. Heh. As much as I'd like to be loyal to my gender, we have proven unfit to write anything but fanfics where we create our own original characters to romance Luke Skywalker.)

Haha. I knew what you meant. Just teasing you. But yeah. In SW, that's what EU is. Sorry. I really should have spelled it out the first time I said it in the thread. :) My bad.

Meh, if I had to acknowledge all that I would also have to accept all those Mass Effect comics and novels as part of the story too, and that's not happening.  No, to me Boba Fett is just some idiot with a bucket on his head who met an ignominious end within the cavernous depths of a giant vagina in the middle of the desert.

That makes you the deviant then. And you miss out since their's more to the universe. It's kind of sad to think that everything in Star Wars is limited to the movies. I'm assuming all games are non-canon for you too?

What has always bothered me about the Galactic Empire was how they went from being as unstoppable and formidable as the Reapers in Strikes Back and then were defeated by a rag tag, poorly trained, organized, equipped rebel force and teddy bears with spears.  Sometimes I try to believe that ROTJ was actually a children's spin-off film.

Well I'm mostly just trolling.  I've actually consumed quite a bit of Star Wars tie-in media and just about the only thing I can say is that the quality is highly variable, some stuff is definitely enjoyable and others you wonder why you wasted the time.  Plus it's kind of a pain just to keep up with and make sense of it all.  I'll headcanon what I like and ignore the rest, I just never found Boba Fett appealing enough to read side stories about him, so I remain blissfully oblivious to his EU adventures.

And completely untrue.

Fett escaped. Like a badass. Then fell back in about a day later. That was retarded. But he escaped again. Like a badass. Again.

Not everything about the man can be totally ****in' I guess.

Well, you don't have to headcanon it. Just don't read it.

Han gets with Leia, they have 3 kids, 2 of them die, one dying heroically, the other trying to become the next Emperor. The third actually marries the new Imperial Emperor. After killing her brother.

Luke gets with Mara Jade, they have a kid, Mara gets murdered by Han and Leia's kid who went evil.

It's basically a Soap Opera and High Fantasy in space.

I definitely remember Mara from reading those Thrawn books way back when.  She was a pretty cool character, like a lightsaber wielding Femshep.  Why did they kill her off?

There's no getting around the ewoks. Everyone hates that design choice. So Lucas said that they didn't technically win against the Empire, just distracted them long enough for the Rebels to do their job.

Also, said Rebels were not rag tag, poorly equipped, unorganized freedom fighters. They were very well trained and very highly motivated.

The Imperials themselves acknowledge the measure of the Rebellion and the threat it poses.

The Mon Calamari Cruisers are on par with Star Destroyers. The X-Wing, A-Wing, and B-Wing's are probably 3 of the finest high quality fighters ever built in the Star Wars universe.

Rebel Leadership has some of the greatest tactical and strategic minds in the SW Universe.

Ackbar is able to fight Thrawn on equal terms. That is an incredible achievement.

Combined with Lando and Wedge, the 3 turned the space massacre into a trumphant and surprise victory over the Empire at Endor.

Endor isn't the end of the Empire. In fact, it's regarded as the first true defeat the Empire ever suffered. But it only goes downhill from there for them.

Until the Galactic Alliance is formed.

Then there's the Fel Empire and Darth Krayt's One Sith.

Cade Skywalker. Baddest Mofo in space.
