So, a while back I resolved the Geth/Quarians situation with the destruction of the Geth, and was a little surprised with how little feedback I got from the game. I figured that was just because everyone was glad the Geth were finally destroyed (except for Shep and Tali). I got one conversation about it from Joker and some one-liners from the crew.
Last night, I finally played a scenario where the Quarians were destroyed, and again, so far very little feedback about it. Again, just the one conversation from Joker and some one-liners from the crew. In either case the Asari Councilor just mentions that the Geth/Quarian situation has "been resolved."
It is kind of strange that an entire race can be destroyed, and the game would provide so little feedback, especially in the case of the Quarians. I always thought Shep or someone would have a memorial somewhere for either side, but I guess I'll just have to head-cannon that one.

Two possibilities:
1.) Everyone on the Normandy hated those races anyways.
OR
2.) People are too scared to speak out against Lord Master Overlord Shepard.
(or BioWare didn't want to add more lines.)

Well, I think you've got it nailed with the Geth. Nobody ever liked them anyways, and they probably expected you to kill them when you were sent to help the Quarians.
As for the Quarians, well, they weren't that liked either by the Council, but a lot more so than the Geth were. Maybe they are just scared ****less that Shepard was willing to sacrifice an organic race for machines. They probably are afraid that if they speak up, they're next.

Some feedback from each crew member is better than none. Honestly i get more annoyed when they all seem to respond as though you had taken each one of them on mission, when in reality you only took two.

If you don't make peace then both species survive.
If you get the Quarian fleet killed by allowign them to continue their crazy attack then enough of them will always escape to keep them going, even with that second Geth fleet joining on to fight the Quarians, the Quarians will instead become an even more extreme group that will return as terrorists.
If you kill the Geth then that second fleet that the were holding back on will escape without anyone knowing it ever existed. They will rebuild at the faredges of the galaxy and might even escape the destroy puse beeing at the outer edges of the galaxy where the pulse might have been weak enough for them to avoid.
There they will rebuild, remembering the betrayal, the ruthlessness of organics and that peace is indeed impossible since no organics will ever embrace the concept of peace or acceptance with a synthetic race.
If you make peace then I guess it's hard to say what will happen. Depends on the writers and the needs of the story.
That's just me trying to explain what we wern't actualy told. I agree they could have told us more since it was a major part of the game, it was one of the major story arcs. I think however that it will be answered in the next game and giving us all we want right now leaves very little for the next game.

Most of the obvious feedback from it was in later resources. As far as ethics go.. good luck with that.
(the game/story is replete with omission on practical grounds... must be a business model having to do with monkeys and keyboards?)

@shodiswe
That is a very good description of what I would have thought happened. I like it.
The Quarians engaged in a multi-system attack to regain their colonies, so I think there are probably some that escaped. The Geth, well, we knew the Heretics built bases out between stars, no reason the Geth wouldn't have something similar somewhere.

If so, the Destroy ending will take care of them in due time. I am nothing if not thorough.Obadiah wrote...

Anyway, I'm not sure why you're shocked that a ME choice didn't have significant content changes based on what you picked, seeing as they pretty much never have (most choices don't even get the short reflections by the crew that this one did). One would think you'd be used to this by now.

No one likes the Geth, the Quarians just represent one tragedy among dozens happening every day by that stage of the war.
And I guess no one really expected Shepard to be able to save both sides.

because choices don't matter.

Anyone here not able to make peace on their first playthrough? What did that feel like? Did you think that the game handled the choice/resolution adequately?

The one thing that surprised me is that no one other than EDI and Tali acknowledged Legion's death, I can understand the Geth themselves because of the heretics, but not the one that helped us defeat the Collectors?
