I thought DA Origin was freaking epic, but DA2 was a huge disappointment. But Origin was just so dang good I can't help but eagerly wait to see if Bioware will redeem themselves after 2.

My only concern is if it will require always having Internet connection like ME3. I'm active duty military and that just won't work if I'm deployed. I also like to travel on my off times, and it would be nice to be able to take my laptop with me and play.

Also, can we have a scene where Morrigan hits you up for child support?

I think it will have multiplayer, but there's no word of whether or not it will affect a single-player campaign. I hope not.

And you will not play as the Warden. You will play as a new character, the Inquisitor.

EA tried the "online single player" thing with Sim City 4, and they got a major sh!tstorm right back on their face from the fans. Also, since their recent major games (DA 2, ME 3, SC 4) were disastrous, I don't think they would dare try anything stupid and hurt their reputation and their sale any further.
Anyhow, BioWare did announced that DA:I will present a brand new hero, so chance is Hawke and Warden won't be around anymore, except may be some cameos or mentioned by npc.

ME3 does not require you always have an internet connection.

And I expect that DA: Inquisition will have the same Origin-specific DRM that ME 3 and DA II had.

ME 3 made over $200 million for EA and is BioWare's most successful game. If that's a disaster, I expect to see Mark Darrah climb on top of a building in a storm and wave a metal pole around.

You do need a connection for all the dlc don't you? So stuff like from the ashes won't work otherwise which is likely all your save games if you preordered (or bought the dlc). The normal method of starting it up tries to connect to origin as well.

Having said that, it isn't a huge issue to me. It's not as bad as Diablo 3 which went from a fast paced ARPG to a slow paced one in terms of hit detection just so it would work better in it's always online mode.

I unplugged my computer, started ME 3, hit 'resume' and up popped my last save. I have all my DLC installed though I didn't check to see if it was still available.

Seriously, numbers don't make a good books / movie / game etc. For instance, Twilight movies made over billion dollar, but they were panned by critics and movie goers. Unless all you care is money.... Or Diablo 3. It was "successful" in term of money, but it perfectly ruined a legendary franchise. And D 3 didn't even raise as much complaints as ME 3.
ME 3 "success" wasn't because of the game itself. Many people buy it only because of their love for ME 1 and ME 2, and they want to finish the whole trilogy. ME 3 itself is a mediorce game, and it caused one of the biggest fan's complain in history. EA and BioWare had to went through all kind of trouble to somehow won back their fans. And still, their reputation was seriously hurt, and they lost a large number of fans. Now unless they release good game soon before their fans completely lose faith in them .... well there were many big game developers / publishers disappeared into thin air before, and there are more will follow their steps if they don't know what's good for them.
In the short term, sure it make some good money (provide that those numbers are true. But since I've been an accountant for over 5 years, I seriously doubt it), but in the long term, bad reputation can lead to poor sale for later products. And in business, that's a disaster.

You are making a few assumptions in that everyone hated it. The only real proof will be how DAI and ME4 sell. I wasn't thrilled with ME3s ending but overall, including the multiplayer, I was very happy with it.

I think you misunderstood what he was trying to say. "unplug" your computer has nothing to do with internet connection. Now if you unplug your internet mordern, or turn on your laptop's "plane mode" or do whatever it need to be done to make sure you can't access internet from your laptop, then start ME 3 and see. I'm pretty sure it will say first "unable to connect to server." and then "unable to authorize dlc ...." and then you won't be able to load your save. That's what he meant by DRM or "requiring internet connection while playing single player".

P/s: No, I didn't mean that everyone hate ME 3, I just said A LOT of fans turned away from EA and BioWare because of it. I personally don't hate, or love it for that matter. But it sure made me question myself whether or not to buy anymore of EA / BioWare games. And I've been BioWare fan since Baldur's gate. Any business owner know that turn your long term customers away is seriously bad for their business, and EA's facing that.

No, in business, spending a ton and not making enough back is a disaster.

Selling more copies that your company has ever sold previously for a single game? That's not a disaster. That's rather the opposite.

And since we're talking about Twilight, I'm pretty sure the writer, directors, and studio heads were heartbroken over their disastrous movies, but that 5.7 billion dollars probably soothed their ache. Wait, no, I'm pretty sure they knew they were making crap for legions of fans to enjoy.

Calling something "bad" because you don't like it is questionable. Calling it a disaster based on nothing but your vague hope that the next installment won't make money hand-over-fist is laughable.

Wait, what? The PC version won't allow single player gaming (with or without DLC) with Origin set to offline mode? That sounds really weird. Offline play works perfectly on console.
