Please look carefully at the warning label on the back of the game box, where the system requirements are listed. Wrap your memory around what it says, and make a good comparison of what you are using as a video card with what the requirements are.
If you bought the game without even knowing what your machine has as ints internal compenent inventory, the article I will link you to tells you how to find out, and gives you a few pointers about game playing PCs, as compared to more mundane computers that were not designed for gaming:
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/509580Make the comparison, or if you downloaded a digital copy and ignored the warning label on the download page, here is what it said (with my edit about the video cards):
Windows XP Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows XP with SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1 GB or more
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (either this is wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB or greater (or this one is wrong)
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space
(Note: IMO, the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least)
It is very likely that your compurter is just too old and too unsuitable for an upgrade, to have bought a game like this one for it.
