Most replayable would have to be those character building modules in NWN, NWN2. Not really RPGs, but I've logged more hours in them trying out different builds than in any other RPG.

Following that I'd say PS:Torment and the original Fallout.

BG II holds that honour for me, many many hours I spent on that back in my teenage years.

That also had an awesome modding community too.

Man some of you guys just have some crazy stupid free time to play this or any game so much. I thought I've been playing it way too much and I'm on my first playthrough. I bought the game the day after it came out and probably had a week and a half where I didn't really get to play it. I'm almost to 130 hours on my first playthrough (I get the most out of my RPG's).

Does anyone here work for a living? I mean besides BioWare employees :)

Anyways... this has easily been one of the most memorable games I've ever played, truly epic. I'm on the final few hours right now and the latest plot twists added SO much to bring the game into Hollywood blockbuster territory. Thanks BioWare for the insane amount of fun you've provided us.

I found Morrowind, Oblivion (with mods) and planescape a lot more deserving of my time. hell, i must have lost a year or two playing Morrowind.

This is my experience too.

There are a few of us, who don't work, don't go to school, don't have much to do, so we get to play.

See a lot of us gammers have been around for a very long time, so we are retired from all the normal stuff so many of you still have to do. Maybe when you get to be our ages, some one will ask the same of you.

Not for me. I usually only play through rpgs once anyway, but I do play them thoroughly and do everything and see everything on the one time through. Dragon Age I will probably play through a few of the origin stories after I'm done with my entire game play through, but I will stop playing the origin stories once it goes to Ostager, I would only want to see the original content in each story.

Honestly I would get bored playing through Dragon Age main campaign again, its all the same areas and monsters, the only difference would be in party makeup.

Then you would be missing a lot!  I've played through 4 times and each time has been a very different experience.  New dialogue, different responses, different outcomes.  Many people (including me) report that they even have different emotional responses to the events that remain fairly constant in the game.  You might enjoy playing at least one more origin through to the end of the game.

I played the original KOTOR at least half a dozen times. At least two of them was as a female JUST so i could kill Carth at the very end of the game. Which incidentally mean he was a very well written character to ****** me off that much.

Same deal with KOTOR2, mostly because Kreia and the Handmaiden are amazingly awesome. With the restored content mod finally available (not the one from Team Gizka, the other one that does the same thing), i will be going back to it again.

With DA i... start a new char, MAYBE get past the tower, and then i lose interest. It's a massive letdown compared to the above. Chrono Trigger got several playthroughs too, come to think of it.

BG2 for me without a question.
DA.O doesn´t have a lot of replayability for me due to extreme
incompetence when it came to talent / stat development and so forth.
Instead of fixing those issues they spam out expansion packs and dlc´s.
I guess greed is taking over for bioware.

Not even close to being the most replayable that title is safely with Morrowind.

In DA I was bored half way through it, I don't think I'll even be able to replay it for a year or so and then it'll be heavily modded - its so full of scripted scenes and overly long coversations I'd actually say its probably the LEAST replayable RPG ever!

I haven't actually finished the game completely yet, but I am close.

After taking 4 characters on the 360 through their origins, and 3 of them through, Lothering-Redcliff Village/Castle-Fade, and 1 through all the Bercilian stuff, half of Ozammar and Part of Denerin, my saves got corrupted.

I then switched to the PC version and am most of the way through it.

I will finish it, BUT............If I NEVER go through the Fade again......EVER, it will be too soon.

While I would like to do a Rogue character, I will not go through all that again. The Fade just killed any replay for me. With the possibility of my other two 360 characters being corrupted, I won't even play them and waste even more time with the 360. And I just can't do it all over again.

Replayability is a pretty subjective thing. For instance, I found ME insanely replayable: I've totaled 9 whole playthroughs, 8 of which were Soldier Paragon.

For DA? I can definitely see it being replayable for quite a few. Numerous paths, party combinations, decisions - list goes on.

I agree.  I had totally forgotten about it with all the hours I've logged but the Fade was/is truly the most boring/tedious part of the game for me.  I absolutely hated it and not because I had any difficulty with it.  It seemed to severely detract from the continuity of the game.  Hopefully they'll leave the Fade out of DA 2.

I agree with both statements here.  I'm on my 4th playthrough of DA, and it's good fun.  Mass Effect was very replayable for me; I loved exploring the uncharted worlds and what not.  The Baldur's Gate trilogy is also supreme.  I consider them all one game.  As one game, BG is HUGE and replayable simply because by the time you actually finish, starting a new character will always be a fresh experience.

I agree DAO is one of the most replayable RPG's created. I've played through the game fully 6 times now on varying difficulties. storyline is fantastic and while the main quest line is roughly the same, there are some slight origin oriented differences through the story line that are awesome.

Between this and Mass Effect. In two months I've posted nearly 10 completions for DA and in two years, somewhere over 20 for ME. The only other game that comes close is FFX for me. Once or twice a year from release, which would put it at about 10 at minimum.

For those talking about the Fade, I must say that while I did not hate the Fade I was expecting something more akin to the Umbra in White Wolf's World of Darkness games, as opposed to floating balls of rock. I was expecting something more surreal I suppose, but it wasn't bad and I'm sure it's mainly me expecting too much. :)

You sound jealous of the folks with more free time than you. Further 130 hours is the longest I've heard of for one playthrough. My first playthrough was 70 something hours and I thought that was lenghty. My first 2 playthroughs fit into your first. 3rd and subsequent playthroughs have all been around the 40 hour mark. My first game I had to try to do everything with my character. After round 3 I started just kind of only doing quests my character might actually do.

With the KotOR games it truly seemed like a different experience depending on whether you were light or dark (as the consequences seemed more significant), and that fact had a hand in my replaying both of them ( especially KotOR 2) many, many times.

I love ME and DA both, but they sorta feel the same whether you are good or evil. So, the result is that I have a tendency not to want to make as many characters in these games, and thus can't replay them quite as many times. Still, along with the KotOR games, ME and DA are definitely among my top ten favorite games of all-time.

Considering the linear gameplay (especially concerning the origins, and the limited number of them), I can only see myself having six characters max at a time before I decide to give this game a break. Luckily I'm only on my third, so there's still some time yet. Mass Effect had the same amount of replayability for me, as well. I think this is more to due with the text-priority to this game, and how they present it. Having to listen to Alistair whine about his insecurities more than twice gives me incentive to just skip through all the conversations, effectively halving the game's lifespan.

I know this question is rather opinionated, so naturally the answer to such a question would be even moreso, but I would have to give Bethesda credit for making the most replayable RPG game in history, at least for me. I've never made as many characters in any other game as Morrowind, or even Oblivion. There is no comparing Bioware's style to Bethesda's, however. Apples and Oranges.

If the two were to merge, however...nah. I'll save my dreams for sleep.

I feel like I am about to be deep fried for this but...  I never finished Arcanum. I dunno adhd and all that. Same goes for KoTor and its sequel. KoTor having played up to the last planet many times but for whatever reason (life other games) I drifted away from it and well KoTOR 2, well christ it just was painfull.
I still have arcanum and I think I will be installing it soon to actualy do a complete playthru. I have always been most fond of steampunk. I wish there was more of them.

I'm not the most re-enjoying type of consumer (except for movies, 'cause they're short), but I don't find DA particularly replayable. The most deciding reason for me are the fights. The game-time consists of about 95% of fighting. And it doesn't motivate me greatly to repeat areas like that.

Same I loved the gameworld and really hope someone tries to buy the property and make a game out of it. But towards the end the story got dull and uninteresting. And there were some broken skills that only worked in real time mode and others that only worked in turn based mode. Which really screwed up feel of gameplay. It's a shame though, because that is the closest we have gotten to a fully developed Shadowrun RPG. :(

For me it would have to be NWN, all the player made moduels, DM tool and persistent worlds kept me playing for so long.
