Being dragged kicking and screaming to platinum. And hiding in a corner when I realized more than one faction was there.:pinched::D

My first demo game I had to break my habit of holding the shoulder buttons to bring up the powers menu and swap weapons.

My first demo game I nearly crapped my pants when I did my first over cover instakill.

I was like, "AND NOW I AM UNSTOPPABLE."

Quickly associating my rapidly depleting shields with that weird, crouching figure with a purple bar for health called a "phantom."

My memory using Human Adept as weapon platform rather than using his powers. I still use Mantis with him but not anymore. this was my loadout: Mantis & Katana or Avenger. Man cooldowns were horrible long.
Reasons might be that I played ME2 with Soldier Shep.

Okay, it's not an earliest memory, but when the Operation Goliath ended and I was already in love with Drell Adept I rocked my allmighty Eagle I on him.

Getting constantly lost on Reactor - couldn't get a grip of that map for a long time.
Getting pissed when it dawned on me that the tactical pause didn't work in mp.
Stasis sniping with an asari vanguard.
Trying a bronze solo with a vorcha soldier/eviscerator. Dying constantly.
Not having any medigel for a long time, because I spent both of mine in the very first match and didn't have any money to buy some more.

Godd times, good times

Orange. Sunset. Lights filtering through the streets between the gray, rectangular, dwellings. A human squadmate. A horrifying scream. Two half metal half organic abominations charging at me. Helpless.
Cornered.

Playing on a team with a Vanguard very early on, not knowing what the hell Nova was at the time, and thinking, "Hey what's that thing he's doing after BC, and how can I do it?".

I thought that the asari had nova too when i learned about nova.......

The very first one I had involving Mass Effect 3 is the first noob moment I remember.

I read Nova's description and immediately thought "Well, that sounds like a terrible ability. I'm going to spec into Shockwave instead." and spec into Shockwave I did.

In my defence though, the game neglected to tell me about the 1.5 seconds of immunity frames which is kind of a big deal for the ability.

My only Vanguard specced out of Nova completely in favor of Shockwave. Is Nova>Shockwave?

Phantoms were a pushover in the single player. Imagine my horror when facing them in a silver match for the first time!

Laughing at someone who had nothing but a Hurricane on a Turian Soldier

"That's a weapons class", I thought to myself, "you're supposed to take two heavy weapons. You're doing it wrong."

I used the Male Infiltrator and ran around the maps (demo) using nothing but Sticky Grenades and a Phalanx.
I was actually infiltrating.

My friend and I never getting past wave 3 Bronze because killing these guys AND doing objectives?! WAT.

Also having no clue what the d-pad actions did; firing off two missiles and looking for ammo so I could get more.

Wondering why I couldn't get a single kill with my Avenger I. Getting wiped out by the Reapers on bronze. Completing my first gold run on White vs. Geth.

Bronze, Firebase White, few months after the release. My very first game ever - against Reapers. I had basic weapons on level I. Everyone else in the lobby had already their fancy weapons like Scorpion or Carnifex at least at level III. I remember screaming inside my head the whole match - JUST LET ME KILL SOMETHING, DAMN IT!!! :D

How proud I felt the first time I reached wave 4 (wiped 3 times since i had only played casual before) in bronze during day one of the demo.

  • Being so focused on powers (and ME2 whack-a-mole-combat-style) that I camped to cover, rarely fired my gun - and then met a Phantom...
  • Standing right next to a cloaked Infiltrator hacking an objective and thinking to be a good team player.
  • Seeing a good player rock class XY, rolling out a similar setup and failing miserably.
  • Being proud for getting through gold matches with a fully tank specced Jugg.
  • Worrying about weight issues with an Infiltrator.
  • Ditching a good support class because I never seem to top the scoreboards.
  • Not knowing that running away from three Phantoms cornering me sometimes is a viable option.
  • Trying to solo a possessed Praetorian after a wipe without medigel, not using a rocket and dying after a lengthy chase-scene.

There are, however also some good memories:

  • Playing a series of solid silver games with a good pug-team and only after a while noticing that the host has switched to gold.
  • First time successful soloing the rest of a wave after a whipe.
  • First time melee Krogan. Yeah, I know, it can be annoying and suboptimal on higher difficulties ...but smashing a Phantom across the map can be so damn satisfying. "Mwahahaha. They're dead!"

Facepalm moments:

Pausing the game to target enemies. Wait.... why is that phantom still coming towards me?
What`s a tech explosion?
What`s a biotic explosion?
Concussive shot is awesome!
Oh sh**, Banshee! Run!

Remaining at N7 120 or so and then finding out that I could promote. Lots of things do come to mind.
The geth pulse rifle and the arc pistol were the weapons of choice with the soldier.

Picking a human soldier and thinking he could equip more than 2 weapons like in SP, also unlocking a Mattock and thinking it would be just as good as it was in ME2
