I know I made a thread about this sometime ago, but felt like posting a more organized one.

So, what is this game?

An uncompromising wilderness sandbox survival with no instructions or hand holding. You are able to customize the world your character will spawn in, making your own best survival experience. Alternatively, the game can be turned in a massive battlefield between various monsters, with you getting all the loot. The art style is rather Tim Burton-ish, though. Then again, it makes the game stand out.

In Don't Starve you search for resources, fight starvation, maintain your sanity, build various structures, craft gear (clothes and hats included), even befriend creatures and make them your temporary minions. There's a variety of weapons too. No guns or bows, instead of them you can use a boomerang, several types of darts and a magic staff.

Food spoils over time (the proccess can be slowed down, however). Your sanity level can change drastically depending on what you're doing. Going full insane has it's advantages too. There are also two seasons that change after a long while.

Currently in open beta, but will be released on 23 April, which isn't a long wait indeed. There will be an adventure mode with a story and an ending. There are seven unlockable characters with more to come. Each has a unique ability, except for one guy who was made weak on purpose for people that find the game too easy.

The story focuses around Wilson Percival Higgsbury, a gentleman scientist  trapped on a mysterious island by a demon named Maxwell who lures people into his realm by promising to make their wishes come true and then forcing them to survive in this hell for his amusement.

As someone who's been playing since the start of the beta I can assure you that it has tons of replayability. Bored with your current game world? Make a new, better one! Too easy? Add more deadly enemies! Seriously, it's a unique survival game that's worth giving a shot.

So what do you think about Don't Starve? Do you like it or is the art style not your cup of tea? Comment below!
