That is a really cool shield! I like it!:D

Thanks pal. I hate to vote for begs, but if you like it, please do vote and show your friends! I'm in danger of being pushed off the front-page by what is essentially a shameless Silver Knight Shield rip-off with designs from google images slapped onto it to boot.

Just voted yours:). Unlike many of those, I could see myself wearing your shield ingame.

Thank you! I put quite a lot of thought and effort into it. I also just realised I wrote "vote for begs" instead of "beg for votes" in an earlier post. Well - that's embarrassing.

"We're going to go guns-blazing with it, and hope to God that it works," he continued. "We're going after people who love and adore Dark Souls, while hopefully widening the net a little. I'm not saying that every Skyrim player's going to be jumping on Dark Souls, but it would be nice if some of them did. It's a different game, sure."  ~ Namco

Prepare for trailers completely portraying the game in the wrong way. Mind you it's not that much of a problem. I just think they're marketing the game the wrong way *again* especially after the first's "you will die hundreds of times" campaign and I never even came close to 50 deaths in one playthrough with the first.

Dark Souls shield contest winners announced and a Solaire tribute shield has made it in:

Solaire's legacy lives on and hopefully the Sunbro faction reappars in DkS2 as well. If they are bringing any of the olds one back then that's one of the first that they need to.

The other winners are here:

Also:

"Freedom of exploration is something we want to prioritise for Dark Souls 2, even more so than Dark Souls 1," he told Digital Spy.

"In Dark Souls 1, you were able to travel to several areas, but hopefully for Dark Souls 2, there you have more freedom to explore throughout the game."

He continued: "We realise in Dark Souls 1 there were some certain orders, like ringing the bells or going to Anor Londo, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

"In Dark Souls 2, we're hoping we can provide more freedom so things don't have to necessarily be done in a certain order.

"We're hoping that if the player tries hard enough, or are willing enough, they could even start halfway through the game, depending on how willing or how brave they are."

When discussing how the player approaches the end stages of the game, Tanimura said that while the goal of "trying to cure a curse" is the same, how you reach the latter stages "is dependent on the player".

"You won't have to follow a certain line, it will be unique for all players, I think," he said.

So even more non-linear than the first game.

Deserving its own post this news:

Dark Souls 2 now officially features real horror elements (well asides from all the demonic grotesque creatures trying to kill you and the dangerous areas you must transverse):

http://www.incgamers...t-preys-on-tims

http://www.siliconer...th-mind-tricks/

Dark Souls 2 is set to prey on your phobias. “A wide range of threats will prey on human senses and phobias,” say From Software. “Auditory hallucinations, vertigo, acrophobia, etc.”

I wonder if this is scripted or if it perhaps occurs when you're hollowed. So you could have some random enemy come out of no where to attack you only for you to find out it's just an hallucination. This would mean that there would be even more negatives of being in hollowed state now (next to not being able to summon for help and lacking curse resistances and other resistances and statistics built by having humanity). Seriously I hope it is related to being hollow otherwise From Software are missing out on what is a great potential to the hollowed system.

Oh and remember the mirror knight in the trailer and the NPC that comes out to fight you alongside the boss? If you play online that's another player.
