Yeah yeah yeah, Firebase Giant with Geth Soldier and Acolyte.  I've tried numerous times and get grabbed every time I tried in the past by a phantom or banshee between waves 8 and 10.  Well not today!  After 71 minutes of ultra-cautious play (yep, make fun all you want because chances are you haven't soloed a platinum ), I finally completed a game and I'm never doing it again!  

Wave 3: Devices
Wave 6: Targets
Wave 10: Escort
Wave 11: Rocketed a bunch of fools for the win

-Geth Soldier, spec'd 6,6,0,6,6 (no hunter mode) with flamer spec'd for distance.
-Acolyte X with High Caliber Barrel V and Power Magnifier V
-Cryo ammo IV (HUGE HUGE HUGE help.  I experimented with different ammo types and cryo is a must!)
-Pistol amp I (all I had)
-Cyclonic Modulator IV
-Survivor Loadout V - 20% more shields and +3 ops packs 

It was a long game but I took plenty of time when I needed it, like when only one enemy was left at end of a wave I'd run back to extraction to get set up for next wave - just wasn't concerned with time.  I've gotten to wave 10 before at around 43 minutes and my gold solos are between 35 and 40 minutes.

Yeah... been there many times.  It's really frustrating sometimes.  I found that I rarely died, but that it was the synckills that were getting me because I get cocky with phantoms (they're easy to kill > acolyte/flame and charge acolyte/release trigger for the coup de grace while you're flaming) as well as playing super close to banshees.  This time I played very cautiously and was lucky to get only one atlas as a target objective (other three were ravagers) and I was able to have 5 rockets going into wave 11.
