I don't. I can think of several times in my life where I could have lended some help, most probably for the benefit of someone else but chose to look the other way simply because it was slightly easier for me to look the other way. For example, was just on the way to work last month and I saw a pair of dogs. I could tell by the collars and dog tags that they had names and had a home, and they were clearly friendly non-aggressive animals who seemed more wary of me than I were of them. Al I had to do was lead them back to my house a block away, check their tag for a phone number or an ID, or anything that myself or the local pound could use to track down their homes. But nope, I'd be a bit late and it's a bit more expensive to take the taxi than pay for a bus fare so **** it, they can just carry on around in the rain while their owners are probably worried sick. Felt pretty **** about myself after I'd given up on trying to rationalize my decision, and I know first hand how distressing it can be for my dog to escape, which is bad enough during broad daylight, let alone during a rainy late night. Just one example of the many times I've turned a blind eye simply because it's the easiest thing for me to do even.

I'd like to think so...

But I'm pretty self-centered, arrogant, contemptuous, argumentative, and brooding.

I've seen this thread before, except it was "nice" person. Good arguments all around, tbh.

I try to be, but naturally, you can't always be a "good person."  It can be too straining and if you're not careful, you can be easily taken advantage of.

I think I'm a fair person. I have my own rules I live by that other might not agree with. I am brutally honest most of the time which leads others to dislike me because I don't act within the social convention of being polite and fibbing to keep the peace. I tend to think that makes me a better person in some ways, its way a lot of people come to me for advice, and I always do what I can to help. It frustrates me to no end when a person lies to me though, its fine if they don't want to tell me about something, but there is no reason to make up something, just say you don't want to talk about. I guess I'm more of an acquired taste as a person.

Yeah.

I've actually been told I'm too damn nice for my own good. It's probably true.

I should start being meaner.

Good? Yep.

Nice? Nope.

Chaotic Good FTW.

The Code:
  • Screw the law (if it gets in our way).
  • Screw authority (if it gets in our way).
  • Do what is right.
  • Kill evil people.
  • Good must prevail no matter what the cost.
Rules:

There are no rules.

Views on neutrality:

You're either good or evil. There is no middle ground. If you're not with good then you're against good and therefore me, The Catholic Nuns of Asswhopping and the Last Knights of Agartha will be coming for you. Hitler is only dead because we went back in time to kill him. You're not safe from us wherever you are and time does not bind us.

P.S

We have cookies and milk so join us.

I really don't know. I try to be polite and all, but get mood swings that sometimes make me rather bitter or extremely melancholic. I'm also not very empathetic. Still, I don't hold grudges or get into fights so atleast that's something.

"Good" is sorta subjective ain't it? What I consider good might be totally different from what anyone else thinks.

Yeah, well... my creativity tonight is weak, so I cannot give you what you seek
And last I checked my dwarven friend, glasses did not exist back then
So let us agree to disagree, and do not question... the Grand Oak Tree.

I think at my core I am a good man. But I do things that are not good or morally obtuse. But mostly, I'm good. I have good morals and ethics and try to remember those elements, but I am only human and do things for pleasure and self serving reasons.

Been good isn't subjective, it's difficult. That's why most people aren't, because it's easier and safer to just keep to yourself and not draw attention. You know we have more in common with **** Germany than we'd prefer to admit. How many people in Germanny participated in the holocaust by their inaction and lack of protest? How many of you participate in the many other atrocities been committed on other nations by doing the same thing?

Define "good".

I am a nice person. I am polite and I tend to have no quarrels whatsoever. If someone doesn't like me, meh, their loss.

I am however a hopelessly detached personality, not very empathetic (tend to be a lot more on the logical, calculating side of the scale), which makes me kind of hard to warm up to, despite my friendly nature. Me being an effective loner type doesn't help much either.

So whilst I will help people if they ask me to, I very rarely go out of myself to help strangers I just happen to pass by, it's afterall not my problem.

I'm like you mostly in this part.
It happens rarely if someone asks me for help. I'll gladly help, if the act isn't harmful, chaotic or immoral.
