I've tried everything I can.  I've done the uncheck forced-save method.  I've gone in and changed the code; I've deleted the folder and tried to re-install.  Nothing has worked.  I simply cannot get the location where Shale is located to show up on the map (got the control rod just fine).  I hope that there will be a fix coming to this issue as it has been very frustrating.  Otherwise, best game I've ever played.

So you have the DLC? When you first start your game, Sulcher's Pass should come up as a new quest and immediately update your World Map. It's over near the Frostback Mountain Pass. You don't actually get the place where Shale is until after going there...

Yes, Sulcher's Pass does come up. I go there and talk with the merchant, he gives me the Control Rod and says he'll mark the location on my map. Go back to the map.....no location marked. I've tried all the things mentioned, but Shale's location does not show up on my map.

Well, an interesting analogy, but I'm hoping someone will have something a little more constructive :-). Like 'this is how to fix it' or 'hang in there, Bioware has a fix coming', etc.

Have you tried using the developers console to fix things? Instruction in this thread

Thanks Kepha. That is the one fix I haven't tried. Quite honestly, I've been afraid that I'd mess up the game somehow working the the developers console. Perhaps that is my only choice left???

What is it that he would do in the dev console? You mean like an area teleport?

Same issue. I've dug into the guts of this thing a ton, no dice.
