I just downloaded Return to Ostagar and when I installed it it said "You have the wronge version of Dragon Age: Origins, please go to the website and download the newest patch" there is no newer patch than 1.02a. So I loaded up the game anything and went to my downloaded content. I have Stone Prisoner, Wardens' Keep and Return to Ostagar in my downloaded DLCs. But RtO is unchecked and says "Requires game version 1.02 to play" is there any way to fix this or another download I can get because I'm unable to play this one.
Problem with Return to Ostagar..says wronge version of game

You may leave here now. Pirates are not welcome. There is no official download, no announced release date for any download, there is only a stolen copy that had bugs still included in it.

actually I hear some PC users were able to accidently download it a few days ago from the downloadable content menu. Assuming people are pirates is just plain wrong, especially with this product since its been released and pulled a few times.

As its not officially released yet, if shows up as available in the game its a glitch. As such its a use at your own risk sort of thing. Bioware/EA aren't going to support it until its released, and the rest of us can't really help since we don't have it yet.

and BTW...I didn't pirate it, me and my friend both own the game. He couldn't get RtO to work on his computer so he installed it on mine with a jump drive and it tells me it is the wrong version of the game and requires 1.02. He can play it on his but he crashes after about 10 minutes every time.

Maybe a checklist might help Bioware out here:
Sample Checklist
1. Get idea for new content...........check
2. Advertise release date..............check
3. Pull release date......................check
4. Set up price for new content......check
5. Post new content 'accidentally'..check
6. Pull new content.......................check
7. Repost new content later...........check
8. Post patch for new content........break time

Or, it isn't out yet. They pulled the game and the patch from there site. There was a delay though, they removed the patch quickly but forgot about the DLC for like 36 hours (I may have them swapped around by mistake, unless thats related to the xbox version).
The patch and DLC was never ready for Prime Time when it accidentally leaked.
Since you managed to install or download the DLC, I presume the content has been added to your profile hence why it will now always shows up as available to you.

edit: or it really is available and was done so recently >.>
http://dragonage.bioware.com/addon/rto says it is out for PC and xbox360.

The 1.02 patch has been available since mid-December.
Direct link is http://files.bioware...gonAge1.02a.exe
I don't know which patch page is still linked to 1.01b, but the "offical page" is http://social.biowar...page/da-patches and its correct.
And Franpa, RtO was released last night.

I went to bottom of page under help to the 'Patches & Updates', searched for DA:O patchpage and used the link from there. Silly me, sort of thought that all of the help links on the Official site would link to the same patch....

I have the same problem. I don't understand... I just paid for an expansion I cannot use? Or it doesn't exist, but was available on my downloadable content list? I had a rough time locating any update patches, but when I did I downloaded patch 1.02a as far as it's telling me.
When is a patch going to be available to fix this issue, or am I getting my points/money back? Perhaps it is something I'm not doing or doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Isit or is it not legally available. They should not be taking money if 'It's not available. I have the same problem. Fixing tech issues in this game is almost as challanging as the game itself.. I hope the explansion coming out soon is free of prolblems

Ok I just fixed my problem, and this is what I did:
First download the patch from http://social.biowar...page/da-patches even if you did so before.
Once finished, completely quit dragon age and then install the patch. It should run itself and install by itself. Then restart the game.
The first time I tried to do it, the patch did not install. I suggest you try the above again to see if it works - it just did for me.
