Ok so I love Sandel as much as the next guy.  But to have him as a main stay in your "camp" in yet another game will be pushing it.  Not to mention it just feels like you are kicking a dead horse by the end of DA2.  I think the whole simpleton that knows more then it seems would work much better is small amounts.  Just my two cents for the day.

Well, the kid is obviously part of the metaplot, with dwarf magic and spooky foreshadowing.

We need Sandal, Bodahn, Herren & Master Wade. No Dragon Age without those four.

Well since they pretty much advertised they were heading to Orlais, and thats where the game is supposedly taking place I'd expect to see them. Considering Bodahn is always catching up on new business opportunities, offering his services to a newly formed inquisition seems right up his alley. I predict they'll take up residence in your new castle as merchants.

Besides they're the C-3P0 and R2-D2 of the series.

You'd have better luck asking them to not have romances.

TBH the only good things in DA2 where Varric, Bodahn, and Sandal.

I'd love to see a Bioware game without crappy romances and dialogue.

... Go play Assassins Creed or CoD. That seems to be more up your alley.

I agree that they should not be in perhaps as merchants but the story arch needs to be followed. I could see Bohdan passing away and Sandal having a bigger role in some fashion. I hope they do not just toss his story arch aside and forget about it.

Yes, yes... because one does not wish for shallow, fan-service romances that put romance novels to shame means they must immediately be someone who doesn't like RPGs. That seems entirely logical.

You can see that every Bioware game. They're optional.

I want a Sandal romance.

(j/k. That would be extremely creepy)

^OP: I admit that Bodahn is seriously getting on my nerves, even though he was tolerable in DA2 (mostly because he didn't sell you things at a price worthy of the sleaziest loan sharks and call it a "discount"). But Sandal is Sandal. I'm very fond of him, actually, and would miss his eery cuteness.

How did this turn into yet another romance debate? But anyway i think it would be fine if they are in the game just not in you camp like the last two games. Have them be like travaling with the Queen or something.

Bodahn tells you that Sandal's gotten a job as an enchanter for the Orlesian Empress, so it's likely you'll be seeing him.

Don't play AC:II or even AC:III if you're against shallow, fan-service romances. Those games have them in spades.

In the game, fine. Stuck in the house/party encampment again, no thanks.

Where was the romance in AC3, the only thing Connor was in love with was the idea of Justice :P

It seems almost certain that they'll turn up but so long as they don't live with my character for a third time I'd be happy with that, I do still like Bodahn. That said, I'd like to see Wade and Herren if I need a live-in shop/craftsman; I'll do without the enchanting for the banter.

Where did Connor come from? Right. Haytham's awkward romance.

^Good point. Although I'd call that scratching an itch more than anything, he abandoned her right after he had he sex with her.

I played AC:3 recently. She left him, apparently, because it turns out that he was LOLZ EVIL.

I would argue that the romances in AC II (and the subsequent games in that miniseries) were not fan-service. They were largely shallow, sure, but no gamers came from AC1 saying "we need sex in this game!"

Further, for AC III --what was fanservice about that? The only one I can think of is Norris and Miriam, and while it's cheesy at times, it certainly isn't fanservice.

Edit: same about Haytham. Rather out-of-nowhere, but not fanservice.
