Bodahn and Sandal seemed to have turned into the Dragon Age equivalent of Biggs, Wedge, chocobos and moogles from Final Fantasy...They are just in the game, because.

You could accuse them of this at times for sure but probably not this time because A) They indicated they were going to Orlais in the last game with a plausable reason and Some of Sandals actions are unexplained including his bizarre prophecy in your mansion in DA2.  I'll be upset if they toss that part aside and do not properly explain it.

I don't find Bodahn and Sandal or Herren and Wade particularly interesting characters, but they don't have major roles so I don't really care. I did find Sandals innate power a bit silly the way he showed up at the end of origins, they should have left that part out imo. It probably does require some sort of an explanation since they continued it in DA2.

Sandal should not just come back, but come back as a full blown part member with his own unique fighting style that your character can't have like Shale or the Mabari from Origins. His fighting style should be based around enchantment bombs (like rogue flask skills) and hand-to-hand skills.

For them to be in camp once again with the Inquisitor-main character, yes, I agree, that makes sense.  As some have stated however, what with the mystery behind Sandal (why is he the only dwarf who can use "magic"? how does he kill rooms full of Dark Spawn? D: while still standing there so merrily?) and his supposed-foreshadowing on the series? Such as in DA2, when one random encounter where you try talking to him becomes this:

• Sandal: One day the magic will come back. All of it.
  Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part, and the
  skies will open wide.
• Bodahn: Huh. What's this?
• Sandal: When he rises, everyone will see.
• Bodahn: By the ancestors, what's gotten into you, my boy?
• Sandal: Enchantment?
• Bodahn: Hmph. That's more like it.

For reasons such as these (as well as, I mean, they're amazing in my opinion, at least), they're more than likely going to be in DA3. But, as merchants for our DA3 character? Perhaps. I agree that it'd be interesting to see them as something else, and have new merchants. Although I personally wouldn't mind too much if I get the chance to talk to those adorable dwarves whenever I get the chance.

EDIT: I would love that, @andy69156915! His abilities would be very unique and would come in handy, for sure. Plus, that style of fighting you mentioned reminds me of one in Jade Empire, with...ugh, I forget the name of it now. It was a sort of drunken fighting, I think? Where you threw bottles?

Bodham and Sandal are staples from DA. Love them. Would you have Final Fantasy without Chocobos and Moogles ? Didn't think so.

Didn't they say in DA2 they'd be going to Orlais next? Would be pretty odd not to have them in the game. I guess they could have died in a tragic accident on the way there, but somehow I doubt that.

Harren& Wade are not in Dragon age 2 but i Think the OP is trolling it was stated Sandle&Bodahn would be going  to work for the Empress on her request

Bah, it really doesn't matter to me -- it does bring some continuity to the series. I will admit that it was an eye-roll moment for me, though, when they appeared in DA2, and a bigger eye-roll when they said they were heading to Orlais, which pretty much was nothing but an advertisement for DA3. It was bad enough that they changed Sandal's VA.

But they're minor characters so it's NBD. I'd be a lot more annoyed if they brought the warden back or something.

In WH, the actor voicing Sandal sounded nothing like the one in DAO.  I don't remember which one he sounded like in DA2.

Even without foreshadowing and such, I don't really mind if they're there. It's definitely fanservice, but it's the kind that doesn't really do any harm in my opinion. I mean, their presence should make sense, but I'm not gonna get all twisted up about their appearance even if it is a bit of a stretch.
