Not trying to max my manifest, but this is the last weapon I really want to unlock and try out. I have a Batarian Slasher build in mind that relies on crowd damage via Warp followed by Clusters and/or Venom shots.

So what are your thoughts on the Venom? And are there any kits that make it shine?

That's a flat out lie. 

Also the Venom shotgun is, IMHO, meh. A+ for novelty, D+ for effectiveness. Badass in single player though

Lolz. Anyway, I personally have been experiementing myself with the venom and as of right now, my best suggestions in terms of characters would be either the AIU or the Destroyer. The AIU because of the increased shotty damage in the tac cloak, and the destroyer because of bonuses in his devastator mode. If you want to practice aiming the weapon, I would suggest sp as a training ground if you have the dlc pack that it came with. I only have it at two and it does a good job of staggering if you can aim it good. My suggested mods for it would be the regular high caliber barrel and the spare ammo since it has relatively low reserve ammo.

Well, this is like saying that the TSol makes any weapon good, but it does not take away from the fact that there are certainly better guns. 

I agree though, if you had a serious boner for the Venom, then give it to the AIU.

Its a good, not great weapon. I like it with Cryo ammo on the SI.

Pretty much sucks with standard fire do to minuscule AoE. Marginally useful with charged shot.

VenomX is great! IMO.

I use it on a Demolisher with Incendiary IV.

Charged shot+Arc Grenade=Great AoE damage.

For bosses I stick with that motion if the whole squad is there. If just me, I switch to my TyphoonX.

Mine's at level II and I currently rank it as 'annoying'. I suspect by level VI it might become 'interesting' and by X be 'useful'. I doubt it will ever be 'worthwhile', although Titusthongger has a nice melee saboteur build that puts it to good use.

It's the worse gun I've ever used off-host.

It's a decent weapon on host. It actually makes explosive rounds not suck as bad.

Off host, it's undependable and frustrating as hell. Don't even attempt it.

It's fine for staggering and applying ammo effects to immediately trigger with a power (like poison strike). It works ok on silver for the Cabal like this - shoot/stagger - strike (detonate ammo effect) - back dodge - strike again or shoot/stagger or biotic focus to regen shields or teleport dodge away. On gold and platinum, not so good. At least for me.

Its very good at killing mooks, bad at killing bosses. Like most projectile weapons in this game.

try the SE with venom and cryo IV ammo.
no sidearm.

Slasher is the adept, right?  If not, then the adept is who I meant.  He is a stagger machine.
