Slasher is the adept, right?  If not, then the adept is who I meant.  He is a stagger machine.

BTW, works much much better if you always shoot it charged. Especially into groups of mooks.

i actually use it with the Talon engineer. Talon works very well with stagger weapons, being a shotty allows for omniblade, being a projectile weapon means you don't need piercing, and it's the stagger weapon with the best dps potential out there. It's not fantastic but it works.

I wanted to like it but off-host issues, small AoE when uncharged, and low damage multiplier when charged turned me off.

I used it as my primary weapon in a couple of silver solos to get the challenge done (after being underwhelmed with its performance in random Gold matches), and I came away very disappointed in its ability to stagger groups of mooks. I had much better luck firing uncharged shots directly at targets than I did trying to fire charged shots into a crowd. It has a quick rate of fire if you use it without charging. YMMV

Problem is that targeting is bad on some hosts/maps if you shoot at them directly. It depends, but shooting at ground while charged is more reliable in general. If you have good performance then direct shots will connect and can take out a mook individually. Your experience will vary. Lesson: be flexible with this weapon.

I only have it at I. Would like to compare it with level X, but I'll probably be dead before the RNG grants it to me.
