Congrats!

Make sure you buy her a history book or two if you find her digging up the backyard.

Congratulations, Liara is a neat name.

sad man, you couldnt even think of a name for your baby girl without resorting to a f**king video game. there is such a thing called real life and no it cant be found in a game, the wife/mistress/girlfriend should leave/divorce/charge you more money or stop playing WoW with you!!!!!!!

GROW UP to all who have to rely on a video game to name something or someone or to take inspiration from after all its only a story and a half fixed one at that.

its starting to look like a cult here with all the FANATICS (usa calls fanatics terrorists)

Look here ******, your name was probably taken from somewhere as well, some people even take names from cans of food or newspapers. Just, GTFO. It's a legitimate name.

You need to grow up, a video game is like music or a film. And Liara at least is something original, you want to call her Sarah? We got 20,000,000 other ones over here. (No offense to the people who have Sarah as a name, it's just very generic, like John.)

Originality is better than fitting in with society.
I serve justice on the internet.

Ha, I think the only one who is all that sad here is you. Weirdest thing in the world to get upset over. Do you realize the sheer number of people who are named after their parents favorite book or film character? Or after their favorite musician or sports idol? There have been opinion polls that show these are some of THE most common ways people get names for their children, a video game is just as valid as any of those options.

Liara is a rather normal sounding and yet mostly unique name for a girl. It isnt just a completely made up name either, as there are people alive right now with the name Liara. So what if the OP was inspiried by a game character for his daughters name. Not exactly something to have such a freak out over.

The name is apparently of Australian origin and possibly a variation of Lara, which has several meanings depending on the country. Congrats.

Only person that needs to grow up is you. Video games can be just as inspirational as anything else. As you said, they're a story after all. A story that engages the player, that's kinda the point. Has a different effect on some than others and you're in no position to tell somebody else how they should or shouldn't view the game and its content.

On topic, congratulations on your baby OP.

a little off subject, but I had a client the other day whose name was Amanda Lawson....I had to do a dbl take. Not a dead ringer for Miranda, but they could have been cousins. had a hard time concentrating on anything else during the job lol.

Congratulations! Liara is a pretty name, kind of unique while not sounding weird (like Dovahkiin, now that might be a bit too far in my opinion).

Will you be calling her Little Wing as well, I wonder? :-P at any rate, I hope she grows up to be a kind and happy person :-)

Oh my. I got worried it going to be Shepard. Poor child

But Liara is much much better. It´s actually a name that sound nice, and exotic but not in a weird way.

One day I am going to name my cats Kaidan and Mordin. Right after Homunculus, Hulot and Damfino. And I will become this crazy cat nerdy aut withotu kids. Yeah! Life is great.

A Javik daughter would've thrown the parents off the airlock once they got older calling them primitives...

I know I'm tripping. I'll stop now.

Congrats. I guessed Liara. I knew about Liora and that's probably from where they derived the name.
