As we know, from Alistar to Hawke, cheese has a pretty large role in Dragon Age.  It is supposedly very tasty and possibly even a delicacy (though given that Alistar enjoys ruining food...).

In the past we have had items which could revive a fallen comrade, such as Sten's prayerbook or a certain kitty.  Because Sten is busy changing his name and the kitty is old by now and a grouchy old cat, why don't we have expendable cheese items (blocks or wedges or rolls)?  The sheer smell of this fine product will heal that wounded warrior right up and back to fighting!

Crackers and wine may be introduced as a post combat snack as well.

Remember,  you aren't in Orlais if you aren't neck deep in cheese. :D

You get a stinky cheese and wave it under the NPC's nose. Worked in Wallace and Gromit.

Wonderful! Time for a celebration... Cheese for everyone! Wait, scratch that. Cheese for no one. That can be just as much of a celebration, if you don't like cheese, true? You've run a maze like a good little rat. But no cheese for you yet. Well, maybe a little.

I really love this idea. I'd be really happy for revival options to be integrated into the story and lore in such a way.

I'm glad to see some support for it. =D

Cheese and meat spreads are possible, but I'd rather not have every Mabari hound in the area gunning for us. :/

Those items had uses in Origins? WHAT?

~_~

Once you gifted the items, they were usable. The Alistar doll, for example, could be used by Morrigan to inflict wounds onto Alistar. Good fun is had by all.

DA2 showed us that cheese is being used for nefarious and sinister things - just look at the abundance of skeletons posed next to seemingly errant cheese wheels.

I don't think cheese would have restorative effects. Quite the opposite perhaps. ^_^

^ Let us be fair, Hawke was in Kirkwall slaughtering thousands. Sometimes picking up after him gets a bit tedious and it isn't like you're going to not store things in your shady warehouse just because of a few dead guys.

Ham with taste of despair with cheese that makes you despair (by the smell)

Sounds like an Orlesian party!

Weaponized cheese! You force an enemy to eat it and they fall into a deep depression!

Quite a bad stereotype there... Maybe they could have some fat models for the Orlesian nobility though, I imagine a lot of the nobles would be fat and bloated. Then contrast the nobility with the slummiest poor people in Orlais, there would be quite a big divide in the social structure imo, the nobility are enough of pompous ****s to completely forget about the people in the city.

Games with food in them are the best, especially if it's more than a prop, IMO. Like, in Driftmoon, you can't regenerate any health unless you are carrying food - which gets eaten gradually.

Also - there was a cheese joke in Mark of the Assassin ...

(edit: something about Death by Cheeses? - oh sorry, maybe Renmiri got it ^)

Holy crap, you haven't lived until you've eaten some stinky cheese. My favorite is epoisse. With some thin crackers it's freakin' amazing stuff! I'd love to see some magical cheese bring my party back from the brink.

That looks delicious.

Also, thanks thread. I just fixed myself some creamy blue vein on plain crackers.

To Orlais.

No amount of cheese will be able to revive Orlais when I'm done decorating the place.
