Your point OP is a non issue we didn't have that before us to pick to kill organic species A we had kill machines + more machines.

You're thinking of the dark energy plot line which in its ending had kill off Earth and all of humanity and save the rest of the galaxy or don't massacre your own species and doom the rest of the galaxy.

It was a catch 22. Those who hate being humanity and I assume by extension of this hate themselves as they're also human would then kill off Earth because to them the aliens deserve a good run.

But those who believe in saving as many lives as possible are left with nothing if they choose not to destroy humanity then according to the documents there was a short time the reapers would leave then the galaxy would explode due to dark energy overload or something. There was no creative kirk 3rd option to be had anywhere in sight. With the current ME3 ending the geth are that 3rd option kill them save the organics which if you forgot OP they already volunteered to do.

How far are you really prepared to go? How far does the end justify the means for you?

Pretty much everyone and everything can die for the greated good in my opinion. That greater good is an universe without reapers, where organics can live freely. If I would have to wipe out every single advanced species in our cycle to do that, than so be it.

Only when ALL organic life would die, I wouldn't choose Destroy. Because that would make the Destroy option pretty pointless.

This thread makes me think about the Normandy... Why wasn't it destroyed along with the Reapers? I mean, Normandy was EDI's actual body, the sexbot was just a mobile platform... Having the Normandy destroyed would raise the stakes even higher!!

At all cost. The whole galaxy. It doesn't matter. Reapers are evil no matter if they had a choice in the matter or not. Their own words, and thoughts show them their true villains self. Yet however I would have the whole galaxy die. Not like in Refuse when Shepard just quiets, but picking Destroy no matter what. I don't want it to be that way, but for one I will never give my Shepard power that will destroy his, or her self code, nor would I give the catalyst what it wants . In truth whether it was the organics that had to die, I would still pick it. Not because I want to, or need to. It's because It's the right thing to do. In a way it's like when Truman had a choice to drop the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima, and Nagasaki to save countless American lives. Did he know what the effects were going to have, no, yet however it had to be done because Japan was going to not stop fighting, unless Japan was hit at the heart.

The way I see it, about to the point when Shepard says " We have to give everything. Even if it means our lives. We will stop at nothing. We will fight, for the lost."

No Xilzhra, I'm actually less hostile today. No hot flashes.

I saw what the OP did. He said wipe out all organic life, or pick your organic species you dislike. He left all the synthetic species out of the equation, but the reapers get destroyed. I don't think that's right. It's not fair. If I have to pick an organic species I have an ethical problem, so wipe the slate clean to get rid of the reapers. All advanced organic and synthetic life + the reapers + husks and whatever + the intelligence + the leviathans (I'll mention them as a special case) die.

The Raoli get a pass since they destroyed their tech and are back pre-bronze age. Hell, they achieved space travel so thumbs down. Leave the relays and citadel intact for the next lot of advanced organics. They get to live free from the reapers.

Hostile? No. Clean slate. Just the infrastructure is left. Just like the neutron bomb.

At least we have actual reasons to avoid Destroy that are spelled out in the ending. What do you have besides fears of the hypothetical?

At least we have actual reasons to avoid Destroy that are spelled out in the ending. What do you have besides fears of the hypothetical?

And at least we have options to pick Destroy, and avoid other endings to.  And I would look at the endings again and see what is spelled out for Control, and Synthesis, as well as Refuse.
