Please God, no. She's worse than Allers.

I didn't play MotA, but I don't think how that's possible.
As the OP, I don't care. I might have a different opinion if I ever play the dlc, but the "railroading" on qunari's side wouldn't bother me that much. I roleplayed a dwarf Warden who sided with Bhelen despite the latter killed the other brother (Trian), forced me outside Orzammar (which could've been the end for my Warden) and indirectly killed their father. Working for the qunari for one mission couldn't be worse than that (or siding with the mage who helped your mother's killer to hide, or which an extremist and at one point completely insane templar who wanted to kill you despire you sided with her :pinched:).

I'd rather not see Tallis again.

Overall I enjoyed MotA (aside from being forced to let her walk off at the end, and not having more elaborate response options during the religious discussion in the dungeon), but there was something off about the timing in her voice acting - that might have been a director's fault rather than actress choice, but either way it just didn't fit with the rest of the game for me.

I like Tallis. I would really like it if she returned.

Felicia Day is probably a delightful person, but that's the problem. I don't want real people in my video games. I want it to be pure, unadulterated fiction with fictional characters in a fictional setting. Encountering a character who looks and sounds like an identifiable person is a deal breaker. I don't play Mass Effect - sorry, but the genre just doesn't appeal - but the Allers thing would irritate me no end. Intellectually, I know that Felicia Day is not really Tallis any more than Hawke is actually me (I wish I could do back flips/heal with a touch/wear spandex), but that doesn't help. Once the association is made, that's all I'll see. I can't help thinking how much more I would have enjoyed MotA if only I didn't spend the whole time thinking "Wow, this must really be some huge ego thing, starring in your very own video game" every time Tallis steals the spotlight... which is all the time.

It's a selfish conceit, I admit it. I want *my* character to be the coolest kid in town, but it is only fair, in a way. After all, I'm the one who bought the game. I don't buy games to give my alter-self the opportunity to hang out with celebrities.

NO! Maker, just NO!
Her character was a terrible Mary Sue that my Hawke could do nothing to oppose, no matter what choice I picked.
Felicia Day is a nice person(probably), but she voiced Tallis and the only way she could come back to DA:I is to return as Tallis! No more Tallis! Just... No!

i'd be happy if i was allowed the choice for Tallis not to be there. That she was completely optional as all companions should be. Rather than put up with that awful VO. Better still that Tallis fall foul of the murder knife.

First, it seemed like she was trying too hard to be likeable.

Second, she had conflicting idealogy. (Believed in the absolute truth of the Qun but felt bad for killing a guard that was only doing his duty/role/job? If he ran away or let Tallis and the PC go, that would be him rejecting his duty. And yet she doesn't shed a tear for the assassins she killed at the opening 'Look at how awesome I am!' scene.)

Third, You HAVE to keep her with you, no matter how much your ideals clash or how little you like her. My mage Hawke didn't want to spend time with a psychopath that would sow her mouth shut.

Fourth, the only option the game really gives you to abandon her lets her get away with what she was planning anyway, so that was annoying. You can't stop her or prevent her from succeeding aside from not playing the dlc.

Fifth, she lies to you, and I guess that pissed off a few people.

Sixth, the dlc was all about Tallis. Every little bit. It was the Tallis show, not the Hawke show, not the PC's show.

Uh...I've got MotA installed but haven't played it yet - are you really forced into that?

Personally, I find it to be a bit of an hit and miss regarding the Qunari.
For one, Hawke is allowed to criticize other aspects of the Qun beyond its denial of religion which I thought was an improvement but; and these might be spoilers; by the end of the DLC, when Hawke and Tallis have recovered a secret that could tremendously hurt qunari operations through all of Thedas, Hawke just lets her walk away. No fighting, no smoke trick, nothing. She just walks away with it.
It goes somewhat like this:

"Hawke: Give me the list!
Tallis: No!
Hawke: Well, I tried."

Pretty much all of this.  If the story wasn't so obviously a vehicle for the novel idea of having Felicia Day in Dragon Age, I wouldn't dislike Tallis as much as I do.

Plus, we often throw around the term "Mary Sue" inappropriately when talking about characters, but Tallis, who looks suspiciously like the actress who created her, is a special snowflake elf amongst the Qunari who gets to do things and act in ways that go against everything we've learned about the Qun, who is beloved by everyone who meets her, even Hawke, whether the player likes it or not, and is super talented, quirky, and toothache inducingly cute, is a huge Sue.

Tallis was one the more interesting characters. Although her primary purpose seemed to be giving more information regarding the Qun more the anything else.

Lol at everyone who wants to kill Tallis off. I'm indifferent. If she's in the next game, fine. If not, fine too.

This particular part isn't really fair, given the live action series.  It would have been odd if she didn't look like her actress.

Feeling railroaded into the situation isn't just Tallis or MotA it was the whole way that DA:2 worked.

Every major plot point up until choosing the Mages or Templars was forced upon you. Even trusting Sister Patrice, which I would never have done in a million years, you had no choice about.

Well you could say no and walk out, but then you find that you have to go back with your tail between your legs because the game won't move on without you working for her.

That was really annoying.

There is that.
She was pretty much the only character on my team to consistently die in a fight, (and always the first one to go down) which was awkward considering how badass she is *supposed* to be. If she does come back as a companion, hopefully her defenses are amped up a bit.

I always say with true sincerity that I really admire Felicia Day and think she's just a great face for the industry, especially for gamer girls. But her voice acting for Tallis was not good at all; it literally sounded like someone behind a booth reading lines. Tallis as a character never came to life for me. Perhaps she needed better direction; I don't know. But it didn't work. And I hadn't really heard of her before MOTA, either, so it wasn't her celebrity.

So, to sum, the character I didn't mind; her VA, did not enjoy.

As for MOTA, it's very fun, but I hate how you are forced to ditch your companions and play 1/3 of the game with just her.

I'd love to see Tallis again. I liked talking to her about her struggle with her faith and her place in the world. It would be interesting to see what her mindset is after a few years. Also, I'd like to find out what the heck the story is between her and Leliana.

I liked Tallis, so I wouldn't mind if she returned in Dragon Age: Inquisition in some capacity. MotA is really good and fun DLC. I didn't particularly want Tallis to just leave with that information though...

She was in the last season of Buffy  the Vampire Slayer, played a Potential called Vi.
