Third, You HAVE to keep her with you, no matter how much your ideals clash or how little you like her. My mage Hawke didn't want to spend time with a psychopath that would sow her mouth shut.

Can you leave the DLC at any point?  If so, this is sort of your fault.  If not...then it's still sort of your fault.  You should realize the meta implications of why she's required in the DLC that's about her.

Wait, so I'm not allowed to enjoy the dlc I paid for if I can't be allowed to disagree and in turn refuse to help a character? My only option to oppose her is to 'not play?' Great, thanks. That's just... awesome. Image IPB

See, this is why I disliked the MotA DLC and Tallis' part in it. I can set aside my dislike of the character, the Voice Acting and the railroaded plot points, because it's all subject to opinion (or it's something that was done in the core of the game).

But... Dragon Age 2 was about Hawke's journey. The entire thing revolved around Hawke's life, Hawke's rise to fame, Hawke's position in Kirkwall, Hawke's great triumph and Hawke's great legend.

Then MotA happens and the consistency of Dragon Age 2's design, what little consistency there actually was, is thrown out of the window in favour of show-casing a completely random NPC that you know next to nothing about. For the entire DLC the story is no longer Hawke's, the consistency is no longer there, it's not "Hawke's legend" anymore. It's the great adventure of TALLIS.

Suddenly dropping the singular driving force that the game had and replacing it with something completely new, for any reason, is boggling to the point of insane.

Having a brand spanking new character, that I knew utterly nothing about, suddenly swoop in and completely change the very fabric of the game's core design... It permanently marred my opinions of Tallis because Tallis completely changed the game.

I don't like Tallis for a number of reasons, and maybe it's childish to let the game's directional "issues" affect my feelings for her character, but I would not like to see her again.

I adore Felicia Day. I think she's incredibly talented and a sweetie-pie to boot. But I really dislike Tallis, for a lot of the reasons already mentioned by others in this thread.

That said, I don't hate her; I wouldn't be despondent if she appeared, and I certainly wouldn't murder-knife her before she had a chance to open her mouth. If she should appear, I'd personally prefer that she be relegated to the role of a small cameo, and I wouldn't love the idea of Tallis taking up a companion slot that could have gone to someone I might have had more sympathy for. But I'd get over it.

TL;DR : I'd prefer she not come back, but I won't tear my beard and rend my clothing should she happen to show up.

No, I don't really care to see her again.

One, I thought FD's VA was okay, but I personally did not care for the sound of her voice- she constantly sounded congested to me. Maybe that's just her voice, I don't know, I didn't know who she even was before MotA, but it wasn't something I'd enjoy hearing for an entire game.

Two, her character was utterly forgettable to me. There was nothing remarkable about her besides her fancy cut-scenes which felt like false-advertising as she was always the first one to die in my party and constantly had to be revived (as others have mentioned).

Three, I don't want to see a whole bunch of old faces in DA:I. Each time they bring back an old character in a new setting, it diminishes the scale of Thedas for me. We only really know a handful of people on the continent and it's simply unrealistic that they keep showing up potentially thousands of miles away from their 'home base' unless every country in Thedas is a 'block' away from the next.

Kind of an odd complaint, but I really want DA:I to feel vast and new and miscellaneous characters showing up without good reason takes away from that.

Also- thar only be room for one Sue in these parts!

I agree, I do want to see some old character return, but a new chapter for new characters mainly.

@maverick827: Thats pretty much the problem with that DLC, Its all about her!. The PCs story just takes a back seat for some random NPC, who tries to hard to be liked. You are even forced to spend time doing a lot of that DLC with just her for company in an effort to force you as a player to like this character. It would have being no sad loss to anyone if this dlc had being cancelled and the expansion give priority over this vanity project, As the PCs story should have precedent over this inane dlc.

I agree with pretty much all those points. And I was really hoping that the DLC would keep on getting better after Legacy which to me was very good. As it fleshed out Hawke and his/her family a bit more and added more to the lore. Again Talis adventure was a disappoint to me...even more because that was all we were getting.

Like other people have said I really don't get the 'thing" with Felicia Day. I was maybe one of the few people when Bioware was like "hey Felicia Day is going to be voicing one of the characters in the next DLC. And she's doing a Dragon Age web show, go watch that too...right now!" I tilted my head like a dog and thought, "who's that? Should I know that person?" I'm sure she's a nice person and all, but all I really get from her is that she's a girl who games. I'm a girl, I game...it's not a big deal.

She's incredibly protective of her little mary-sue she doesn't even want to think about letting her die in a non-canon game quest >.>... So my answer is no.

The script for Redemption was a first draft so she never even fleshed out her characters or character arcs. Thus rendering her character as a pile of **** because she was so proud of it that she didn't want to rewrite anything to make it better.

I have no issue with it. I am curious to see where the character goes, considering she seems like she is having a crisis of belief.

I liked Tallis, she was charming. I still don't really know who Felicia Day even is, even after I first played MOTA a year ago... Don't care enough to find out. That probably actually helps with liking her, who she's based on doesn't effect my opinions about Tallis. I would have no problems with her returning for Inquisition.

Also, I LOVED how she could actually throw daggers IN GAMEPLAY AND OUT OF CUTSCENE! I am SOOOO jealous of that. What I wouldn't give to be able to have my own rouge Hawke do that. I know there's likely mods or console commands... But I own a console version. I really hope her dagger throwing basic attacks are an upgrade you can get for rogues in DA3:I.

Should say: I have nothing against Felicia Day. I take it she was in some tv shows that were really funny or something?

But the character of Talis was terrible and even as a voice actress I don't think her "quirky-girl" voice fits well with a medieval fantasy setting. Veronica already felt a little out of place in New Vegas but that setting at least partially runs on weird quirky stuff. Maybe if she voiced a tinkerer gnome or something it could work.

As much as I like Felicia Day, I have to say though, DA: Redemtion was kinda bad, and Tallis was a weak character. Cameo is fine. As companion, or quest related character? Nah.

Most people don't want their characters to die, and it is her creation so she has the right to do what she pleases with it. Redemption was a low budget web series that wasn't perfect, but she liked it and others enjoyed so that is all that matters. Also, if I made a character that ended up getting put into one of my favorite video game series i'd be proud of it too.

Me too. I think Tallis has potential, her character was very interesting to me and i'd like to see her again. I liked the crisis of belief, I can relate to it and that is something I enjoy.

I actually like Felicia Day.

However, I do not at all like Tallis, and would gladly murder knife her if I ever saw her again.

Well, you don't have to murder knife her, but you can simply send her away. Send her to Isabela's house.

If they bring Tallis back, then yes. Regardless of my opinion of the character (a solid 'meh'), I have a serious pet peeve involving different voice actors for the same character. Mordin in ME3 bugged the hell out of me, for example.

I liked Tallis, but putting her in DA:I might feel a bit like adding her in just to bring in Felicia Day. Not that I mind Felicia Day, I would just rather not have Tallis thrown in for fan-service.

However, if the chantry is conducting an inquisition, there may be opportunities for that inquisition to come into conflict with the Qunari.... and we DID last see her in Orlais.
