Just because I felt like re-visiting DA2 yesterday for some reason, and loaded up the DLC, I thought about the matter.
I don't want Tallis back - because she was too "Felicia" for me. Aside from the fact they even used her very own face, voice-wise she hardly does anything to make Tallis stand out as a character. While I really like Felicia's persona in her shows, unfortunately I just don't buy it whenever Tallis is supposed to appear like the hardboiled professional.
Just to be clear - Felicia Day is really great. But it's more of a cameo and way too meta not to break immersion.

To sum things up:
- Tried MUCH too hard to be likeable: "Oo, look at me, I'm so quirky and fun and awesome! LOVE ME!!!"
- Was too much of an exception in every way: she stuck out like a sore thumb as an elf (including physically), as a Qunari and as a character in general. Mary Sue sense tingling.
- There was virtually no way to disagree with her without sounding like an intolerant douchebag.
- There was no way to actually stop her from obtaining that list.
- "I've got your nose!" UGH

She was fine in The Guild, but that Dragon Age webseries was cringeworthy.

1: I can tell her exactly how much I hate the Qun.
2: I don't get railroaded into doing her dirty work for her against my will again.

Veronica from Fallout NV was a cool character, Tallis was not awesome at all

That said, I wouldn't mind having her "leap to the top of tall buildings" ability.

Anything and anyone but her.
There was absolutely nothing good or interesting about her. And her voice gets on my nerves. So do her facial expressions.
I wouldn't even want her back so I can kill her,I just don't want her in the game.

Uh...I've got MotA installed but haven't played it yet - are you really forced into that?Wulfram wrote...
As long as she no longer has the power to indoctrinate the PC into serving the Qun, fine.
No. I am going off memory here as it has been a while since I last did MOTA, but I don't recall ever being forced to do something like that. You can agree with her on points about the Qun, or you can outright reject them. She just presents a more 'compelling' (or rather sympathetic) case of the Qun to the player
I just finished MOTA and got the smae impression. Everytime you ask the Arishok to explain the philosophy of the Qun, you get the whole 'No' dialog... Same thing with Sten in DA:O. It was a nice change in pace to meet and NPC that was actually willing to talke about it. That doesn't mean I agree with the Qun (my character is a mage), but still nice none-the-less.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing Talis again. She was super fun in the DLC (Come on, Drunken Talis!). I just wished she stuck aroung longer for character development purposes.

+ for 1 it would be nice if I can convert her from Qun.

Tallis wasn't really a useful character, and she didn't contribute to the plot other than to offer some insight to the Qunari. Basically what I gathered from her is they want peace, but will kill others if they don't convert to the Qun as "demanded".
And they dislike the chaos we baas thrive in.
+10 for pic usage.

Tallis was a total MaySue. she seems to be here only to make you feel all over again how much of a failure is the character of Hawke.
it already start bad with the asassin's creed/naruto style of entry onto the scene. terrible. but I blamed the anime style of all DA2 (DragonBall was much more realistic, really!!!)
than, everything Hawke did, she could do better or just didin't really need Hawke. I liked the introsection in the Qun philosophy, but I really hated the character. But I hated most of the character of DA2...really too much bidimensional, and adolescential in their convinction.
I liked only Varric and Aveline.
