I have searched for this particular glitch, and found no threads. I'm not a power user when it comes to forums, so either I'm really bad at searching or everybody is being really quiet about this glitch.

On usually any difficulty silver and higher, I use consumables. I usually set the consumables before searching for a game and joining a lobby, so I'm ready to “ready up”.

Here's the glitch, I have on ammo, weapon and armor consumables. Start the game with the lobby and or get thrown into a wave in progress. Complete extraction, when I go back to the character screen, all the consumables that I had selected for that last game are still there?

I would like to think its some sort of reward and not a glitch, but I know better. Image IPB

Not sure if this is pug only games, or hosting/not hosting with friends, or a combination of them and not sure if there is a pattern to it. Yes, I'm on the Xbox, but is it there on PC or Ps3 also?

Anyone else?

I've had this happen. I thought it was because the match failed. Or something.
I've only seen it happen a few times. I just assumed since the whole team KO'd that the game didn't count to take away the stuff.

Have had this happen a lot. It seems completely random.

It does seem to correlate with a game in which the host left mid-match. That seems like a guarantee to extract while keeping your consumables. But I have had it happen in perfectly normal games, too.

Just consider it a random gift, I guess.

it's the by-product of RNG God's tears, when someone gets a UR in a pack the RNG God cries and if his tears flow down through certain areas consumables are given a 2nd use for lowly scrubs .....

usually happens when a host migration occurs mid-match
2-3 people keep their consumables after the match while everyone else loses them like normal

My brother mentions this a bit, he thinks you keep it if you didn't get down but I'm not sure, I need to test this myself.

That is incorrect. I have had plenty of 10 waves survived and lost consumables like normal.

Really, the only reliable way it seems to happen is if a host migration occurs during the game (and, obviously, you yourself weren't the host who's suddenly leaving). You'll also notice that -- if you had used any rockets, medigels, thermal clips, or ops pack prior - you'll suddenly have those all maxed out again when the wave restarts.

Hmmm, actually, maybe that ties into why you often seem to keep your equipment post-match when host migration occurs?

Host migration is when someone leaves and the host changes to someone else right? But my brother was the host and he stayed, but someone else left.

Lol, no. I've never got 10 waves survived in my entire ME3 gaming time probably, yet I've had this happen planty of times.

Correct, host migration is when the host of the game leaves, everything pauses and you hope people don't just bail out, and the match chooses someone else in the game to now be host.

Like I said in a previous post, this glitch is really random. It just seems to happen more often if you were in a game and the host left. If your brother was hosting and kept his consumables, he was just lucky. Not dying in the match has zero to do with it. I have hosted plenty of times and never gone down in many games and never kept my consumables.

I definitely seems to be triggered by host migration. All the times I have had it happen to me, it was when the host left.

OP, this is how it appears to me, on PC.

Host leaving/rehosting mid-match may increase chances, but can still happen (like yesterday) in a normal match.

Have had it happen after joining a game mid-match, but most times it happens when I start a match from the lobby.

Like DR says, I just consider it a random gift.

It would be nice to keep the consumables if the whole team dies on wave 2. But NOOOOO.

It happens to me once, and never again. (PC)

Never thought about host migration, that happens just about as much as this glitch(gift). Wonder if Bioware tried to patch this in their patching days or any insight into would be cool. And as for a “gift”, thats to easy, if it a gift, the RNG would be a whole lot kinder too.

So, purty much its caused by SPACE MAGIC, got it.

PS The dance gif is great

Keep track of how many of whatever you're wearing you have. At the end of the match, it will always be one less, even if you are still 'wearing' the consumables. The glitch is nothing more than a failure to remove the equipment after the match... You're not "saving" equipment.

I'm not so sure. I used to think that, too, until I equipped the last bit of equipment - for example, my last Assault Rifle Rail Amp III - on my kit, did a game, saw I still had my equipment afterwards and it was still there when I started a new match.

There was no additional AR Amp III for it to equip to fool me. So, did I not have one at all that next game and it was a visual glitch?

It's a random glitch. Sometimes it removes the items from inventory, sometimes not. It does seem to occur frequently when the host leaves, but its still random. I have had this happen under all kinds of matches ( map, faction, outcome ). So just enjoy it when it happens. It does NOT begin to make up for all the times you got disconnected after the wave 10 credits rolled :)
