Those of you who have forgiven Bioware for Mass Effect 3, why?

I'm not a fan of the endings, and I will start reading their games reviews from now on instead of assuming they're good (this is 99% DA2 fault), however I'm not going to hate them forever for the last 15 minutes on the trilogy.
I'm more worried about the ME3 bugs that have yet to be fixed and they seem to be ignoring for now, if those aren't fixed then you can be sure that I will never buy another game from them again.

I was never that upset to begin with. I was a little sad that the ending lacked clarity, but that HAS been fixed.

You sure you want to approve Troxa's post? A lot of the stuff he linked is about things Bio said that turned out to be true.

I've kinda forgiven it. Well, I've got over my anger at it. I still think it's really **** in parts. The ending is a joke. There's lots of gaps in common sense. The story is mostly pretty stupid. And it retroactively ruins the other games a little bit. But it does have some redeeming qualities, and now that the anger has worn off I can enjoy it for what it is - a dumb sci-fi story.

Don't need to forgive them for anything. The delivered an amazing series of games and in my opinion the best ever.

The story even without the extended cut DLC was perfect for me. When those 3 choices where made available I stood transfixed at the screen, it was a beautiful moment. I anticipated it back in ME2 and everything was coming up to that moment. I tried to wish it away but I knew it was what it was unavoidable. When I entered to take control there was no need for anything more. The story was told and Shepard was able to give others a chance to live.

What comes next is my own imagination and possibly the next instalment of the universe. With that said I miss my Shepard and would love her to continue on many more journeys. But that is my wish and not that of the writers and like any good story the characters who mean so much to you can die and in some cases have to, to make way for the rest of us.

Either way, I respect the writers and producers and all the artists and programmers that made this experience possible. They certainly enriched my life with this experience. Much <3 to Bioware.

Same, I was a bit deflated at the original endings, but rectified with EC and then again with Leviathan.

Again, same here. Echos my thoughts and feelings almost exactly.

To add my own 2p, I am massively looking forward to ME4...or the Next Mass Effect, in whatever incarnation it'll be. The ME Trilogy, from Eden Prime run to the Catalyst Choice, is the best gaming experience I've ever had. And I replay the trilogy in it's entirity every chance i get.

(Takes me about 6 weeks from start to finish, since i only play it for a few hours most evenings, just finished the game again last night and will take a 3-4 week break to play some other games before diving straight back into the saddle. I think I'll go FemShep next time.)

I was never angry with them. Great game. Love it.

Not perfect, no game's perfect, and endings in particular are notoriously difficult - but while it's lost features I liked in previous games, it's also improved on many things. I think it's probably the one game in the trilogy I've got the least to complain about. Not that I complain about any of them, much. All have their flaws, all are still basically brilliant. Nothing to forgive.

In fact, I'm a little unimpressed when people go on about whether BioWare deserves our forgiveness. I think the fans have a lot more to answer for - not in their opinions, no-one's obliged to like anything, and a lot of complaints are valid even if I don't share them, but certainly the way they express them.

Forgiven? For what? Making a game ending I found very poorly executed?

Edit: Oh right, for the pre-release quotes that turned out to be entirely false.  Yeah, those will certainly resonate with people for awhile.

No, I just didn't like it. That was all. *shrug*

If they continue making games I enjoy, I'll buy them. If they make more games that end like Mass Effect 3, I'll probably pass them up. No malice, I just don't enjoy those kind of stories. I don't see where I'd need to forgive them anywhere in there. I just didn't like their vision for the end of ME3, but they were well within their right to make it how they saw fit.

It's just like Star Wars for me.  I used to absolutely love and buy everything Star Wars, and then episode 1-3 were made and now I don't even hardly blink an eye at the next 'Star Wars' thing coming out.  I didn't consciously stop loving Star Wars, but three poorly scripted movies just simply made me uninterested in it generally.

I forgive them not for creating an ending I did not like but for having that ending be vague and full of plot holes. Extended Cut solved that. I may not love their ending but I love their game and their trilogy. I will continue to pre-order their products.

I don't know what they said or why they said it.

But a lot of the stuff you linked to is simply true.

It actually did not.

A BBB blogger called it that. On a BLOG,

There was no ruling.

ME3's adverts were the ususal HYPE that surrounds every launch.

Nothing to forgive them for.

I enjoyed the game and will continue to enjoy it for many years to come through replays.

Looking forward to the next ME(insert name) game. I just hope it is inline with previous ones meaning genre 3rd person RPG hybrid not RTS or FPS. But will wait and see. I suppose would be okay with me if was TBS or FPS/RPG hybrid like DE or System Shock though but all depends on how much focus RPG side of it gets vs shooter side.
