You mean if shep went all Darth on us? No OP not cool...if they want to do something with his lungs that didn't involve regrowing them or reinforcing them with reaper tech then they could've just went all Jensen and gave him a rebreather. But that would all make it very hard to be stealthy because both a Vadar mask and rebreather create alot of noise.

Shepard's respiratory system was damaged to the point where he would have to wear a breathing mask for the rest of his life?

Shepard's respiratory system, along with everything else, was damaged to the point of being a pile of ash during atmospheric re-entry. Instead of a giving him a cool mask they just used it as an a excuse to remake her face.

Tali can't survive without her mask for too long, or were you secretly referring to Liara considering you have her as your avatar?

That's not accurate. The Quarians didn't undergo a biological sea change in the last few hundred years.  Tali can take her suit off, even around other people, and not die as a result.

The problem is that she can't do that, expose herself to a contagious pathogen, and then rely on a healthy immune system to fight it off, because her people have been culturally depriving themselves of exposure to common illnesses for hundreds of years.

Actually, the Quarians would do themselves no end of favors by removing the suits on board ship, when there's no emergency, and just compromising their health by a slow trickle of outgassing changing the content of their atmosphere, hard radiation penetrating the outer hull of their ship, and microgravity manlnutrition gradually sapping their strength.

I was thinking more along the lines of Dark Helmet.

Maybe we can make a ship that goes to ludicrous speed at the same time. Why did this come up OP?

Respirator? No. Eye Patch + Peg leg? Possibly.

At least a "Darth Shepard" would have looked better in "Missing Credit Chit incident"

Kind of a funny thought considering everyone but the cop having a breathing mask.

Nope. I'm a Talimancer and I think that would be just ridiculous.
