I made a thread asking for help unzipping a mod, and I got that part done.

Someone in the thread mentioned modding through daupdater.exe.

I did a file search and it appears that file doesn't exist in my system. I'm just trying to install a respec mod for Dragon Age origin.

If you get a Dazip type file, open daupdater, browse for the file, and from there it's self-explanatory.

It doesn't show up in file search when I look. I don't know why. Try looking in your programs folder under Dragon Age.

daupdater.exe is found in %root%\\program files\\dragon age\\bin_ship
The program (supplied by bioware) installs dazip files into the game. You can then see it in-game (specifically under "Downloadable Content" "Installed Content").
As above, once you have opened daupdater, browse for the dazip and install it...

And I do recommend DAO Manager - its a bit more refined than daupdater.

In your gamefolder, go to Dragon Age\\bin_ship
and there you have daupdater.exe & DAO-Modmanager.exe
Install the Dazip using either.

...so in other words, dont unzip with 7-zip and the like

For Steam, you can find daupdater at:
C:\\Program Files\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship
