Atlases can be killed easily from across a map by lolHurricane, lolShotty/mini-shotty (especially lulzyClaymore-reload-boomstick, lolWraith, even lulzyTalon, etc), some lolpistols and many lolSnipers even on Platinum. Don't forget lolWarp/Throw spam either. Banshees teleport to you so they're not as easy to gun, but they also fall to the warp/throw spam. I see many snipers get into trouble when the phantom swarm rushes them. It sounds like your definition of a boss has more to do with amount of health/shields/barriers/armor. Each player will have a definition of what a boss is though :)

Phantoms are damn dangerous. I'm scared to look at them for more than a second with how they can basically shoot sniper shots like a Nemesis and at a rapid fire pace like they do.

Response Bold: All of those can be done with any enemy, including phantoms, which makes them all have that common ground, not just unique to phantoms/mooks. What i listed was unique to phantoms/mooks that aren't common with bosses.

Italicized: Warp/throw spam is a seriously innefficient way of taking out bosses, even ones with barrier. I am not going to do the math, but I wouldn't be surprised if it took 5-6+ warp/throw BEs to take out an atlas' shields

Underscore: How do people walk away with this idea based on the list? Its not about health/shields/etc. Its about techniques that completely make them laughable.... like stasis.... you can't stasis a boss.....

Phantoms aren't bosses.If you can easily kill them quickly then they aren't counted as a boss IMO

You are right.... Last night, i mustered all the skills i have learned in an intense effort to kill this one phantom.

I pressed Tactical Cloak, then hit Shadow Strike....

It was an intense battle i soon won't forget

I got one.
I was using a scrubby Fury in this platinum game.
I tend tto have that garbage move AF on her (call me a hipster). 
With special training from a pro monk master hermit from China, I learned a secret style.
I shot my charged acolyte gun at them, hitting two at once!
Then I did my move. I ran up to them both and used throw.
I don't remember what happend after that but patches in my memory show a big purple light.


I am glad we made the pilgrimage to the center of the universe to find this secret

No, A boss is someone who has tons of armor, barrier/shields. Even on host, you can 5 shots (yes, five, because flipping DR) kill that bitc* with the acolyte.

You can't stasis a Dragoon either, so is it a boss by that definition? The answer to why I *walk[ed] away with this idea* is because the health/shields... are vastly larger on the units you call bosses. I think everyone might have slightly different definitions of what constitutes a boss, and your poll shows many people think phantoms are actually more of a threat than an atlas. That doesn't make you wrong in any way, though. It's hard to quantify perception of a broad term. :)

Everyone knows the Primes are just a Decoy so that the Pyro bosses (with their flame throwing sniper rifles) and Hunter bosses (Shadowcats) can take you down.

so you mean bosses cannot be stasised but not everything immune to stasis is a boss, like how an elephant is a mammal but not all mammals are elephants

My classification of bosses are how much of a threat I presume them to be. Although tbh none of them can be classified as real bosses anyway.

I just thought, they have to be bosses. Simply because they don't die when venting starts in the reactor core of firebase reactor hazard.

i consider them mini-bosses, like brutes, scions, pyros based on the points they give out. for each faction praetorian, atlas, geth prime and banshees give out the most points next to their lieutenants.

Holy necro batman!

Also, one of the devs confirmed that the phantom was NOT a normal unit, during an argument about why cryo blast could not freeze it even if at health bar. Whether this means it's a boss or a miniboss, I don't know how BioWare categorizes, but it is clearly above centurion/marauder/coll.capt/rockettrooper

They're not bosses. Pull can get the kill on them without much trouble, so they can't be bosses.
