No need to go into too much detail here, my reasons for hating it are the same as everyone elses: weak story, vitually all elements of role playing and character building removed, dumbed down button mashing combat system, lack of exploration. Basically you sold out all the true RPG players to appeal to the broader market of "action games" just hoping Bioware knows how many people they let down with this terrible game. I would tell EA the same but I'm sure they don't care as it's blatently obvious that all they care about is money not art. Dragon Age: Origins was an absolute masterpiece, Dragon Age II was a disgrace, I do not plan on even playing Dragon Age III.

The thing is that most people don't really like those "true RPG" functionalities. Look at Mass Effect: 1 had a lot of RPG elements, namely inventory management through armor and stuff. the powers themselves were not spammable, as is the case in 2 and 3. Nowadays players want to pew pew, not strategize, hence the spammable push and lifts and so on in Mass Effect. Same deal happens with DA. I'll bet you that DA3 is going to be to DA2 and ME3 is to ME2; more of the same... "Managing inventory and micromanaging chars; waiting for the right time to use that push or lift? Ain't nobody got time for that!"

If people need a shooter or slashers - let it play a shooter, not an RPG. But the transformation of a great RPG in an ugly half-slashers - disgraceful. I am extremely disappointed DA 2.

RPGs have traditionally been a niche genre, unlike sports and racing games. An intelligent person will play checkers if no one will play Chess with him, however a dumb person will most likely refuse to play Chess under any circumstances.
